Who are the "Featured Pilots" for the 2009 RDRC Fly-for-Tots event?

With well in excess of 200 registered pilots on-site, you'll be able to see and fly with excellent pilots in virtually every RC discipline. But annually, we invite some unique and exciting talent to join the fun! These guys have real skill as demonstrated by their accomplishments on the national RC scene and each of them is sponsored by one or more hobby manufacturers. And they take time to come to this amazing event to fly for you! The list tends to grow as we get more confirmations nearer to the event, but here's what we can tell you about so far.

CLICK HERE FOR SOME LATE BREAKING NEWS ON ANOTHER FFT FEATURE PILOT ADDITION!

We'll start with some "young guns" who have been making big waves in the IMAC and 3D Aerobatics world. Fresh off their top ten finishes at the 2009 XFC we have:

Seth Arnold from New Holland, Ohio.

RJ Gritter from Greensboro, NC.

Jamie Hicks - from Bowling Green, Ohio

And joining them for a WILD, four-way, 3D aerobatics demo is our own:

Matt Richards from Raleigh, NC

We are also fortunate to have one of the nation's premier airframe designer/manufacturers with us again this year, who will be demonstrating his latest Extreme Flight machines with his awesome flying skills:

Chris Hinson from Cumming, GA.

And Chris will be joined by another "Team Extreme" (and Team JR/Horizon) member to wring 'em out for us:

Lee Morey from Tuckerton, New Jersey

Fly-for-Tots isn't all just about aerobatics and 3D flying. Nope we have it all! And that includes the best in scale, too. And we have a few guys who will display and fly their "works-or-art", like these three who have won the nation's biggest scale events many times between them:

David Hayes from Roanoke Rapids, NC

Jeff Foley also from Roanoke Rapids, NC

Joe Rafalowski from Atlanta, GA

And how about some amazing helicopter action? Yep, we have that, too, from many who will be with us. But we will be featuring the amazing talents and unique craft of at least two of them:

Kenny Thompson from Raleigh, NC

Jeff Holsinger from Xenia, Ohio.

Some of these sponsored pilots like Jeff Holsinger fly some really cool or unique aircraft that draw attention wherever they are flown. And we have more of feature pilots bringing them to us for the 2009 RDRC Fly-for-Tots like:

Andy Kane form Germantown, Maryland

And there is a very good chance that we will have this talented and fun guy back with us this year:

Jerry L. Smith form Paducah, Kentucky

We'll be bringing you the best in foamies to turbines at this event....it's all here!

Stay tuned for more exciting news...........

One of the cool things about this event is that anyone can fly comfortably right alongside many of the nation's top pilots, no matter what you fly!

Have you guys bugged the local recruiters out there? We have done the rock wall setups and brought out vehicles and such to events like this in the past. Might even be able to get some donations toward the cause.

We haven't done that to date, and it may be too close to the event to do it this year. But it is certainly something that we should look into! Thanks for the suggestion.

Are you Ft. Bragg guys coming up to fly with us this year?

I talked to my recruiting buddy and former 82nd member. Anyways in order to get the Army to donate it has to go through their channels. At the very least we might be able to get a stand out there. I will talk to my current unit and see whats up.
