Besides the non-stop RC action, what else will be happening at the RDRC Fly-for-Tots?

The famous RadioActive Airshow Team will have their air-conditioned simulator trailer on-site with free, big-screen sims running constantly for spectators and pilots alike to try their hand at flying.

Full-scale aircraft will make close-in fly-bys at FFT like Jeff Foley in his Stearman biplane. You can win a ride in this nostalgic aircraft in the raffle!

Speaking of rides, NC Rotor & Wing will have a Robinson R-22 helicopter on-site and will be selling rides. This popular attraction gave many folks their first heli ride and a percentage of every flight is donated to our Victory Junction charity!

We have plenty in store for the kids, too, like a daily candy drop with several unique airplanes participating.

After hours on Saturday, we have a bunch of cool things planned like a Southern pig-pickin' (buy your tickets online at www.flyfortots.com or on-site at the event), music from the entertaining five-member bluegrass band "Clear Run" , a big-screen presentation of pictures shot during the event, and of course.....

......NIGHT FLYING!

The fun never ends at the 2009 RDRC Fly-for-Tots!

Can't wait!! We havent decided yet where we're staying... think we should camp out???

I've got a secret project on the table. Anyone who was there in 2007 should remember a certain paintball-splattered airplane I had... it may just be back from the dead!

Donnie,
When I was a "visitor from the north" last year I stayed at the Country Hearth Inn in Knightdale, the year before that I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Wake Forest. There were more fellow modelers at the Country Hearth but I personally like the H.I. Express drive to the field and hotel better.
Just my .02

RJ, camping will be fine if the weather is good and alot of folks do it.

We can't wait to see your "secret project". I can only imagine what you're up to. This is the place to showcase it!

I always send the Horizon bunch and the showcase pilots to the hotels in the Wake Forest area since the drive to the field is simpler, in my opinion. There's a variety of restaurants near all of them.

Wasn't really planning on it... it's 4.4 ounces so it's not really up for outdoor flying, and it's airbrushed so I'm a little protective of it... lol. Should I?

Still bugging my recruiting friends. I am busy with work; towards the end of the week I can try to make some more phone calls. I was surprised no one else tried to get something together.
