I am liking the looks of the DL30, but wonder what would be the best plane for it to do some huckin' around? I like the looks of the Wildhare Extra and Edge. Does anyone have the 25% size from Peakmodel? They are priced right, but I am unsure of the quality. I am just kind of thinking out loud right now.
Thanks, Eric |

I'll wait and see what the actual numbers are like since neither the plane or the engine are out yet, but I'm hoping that it will be a good power plant for a 3D Hobby Hobby Shop 68" Velox - but I guess my avatar already gives away my excitement about the plane.

I was thinking about doing the new H9 Funtana 125 with the DL30. I think that would be good combo.

Cermark Extra at 10.5 approximately with that motor. Thrust to weight would be almost 2:1. I friend of my has the Cermark/ or Peakmodel, same thing. Its inexpensive too. I have the Seagull Extra 260 180. It is a pound heavier. I have the MLD 28 in it and it doesn't quite have enough power for 3d. But with the DL30 it would be awesome. Well build plane. I have put mine in the bean field a couple of times and it held together well. The Peakmodels list a 8-10 pound flying weight with a 28cc and the DL30 is the same weight. Or the Aeroworks Yak 1.20 at 10 pounds and 380 bucks. The Cermark is 300.00's.

So would be it safe to say that a 9 -10 lb plane would be the ideal weight for 3D fun with this motor?

The planes (Edge and Extra) that Wild Hare has been selling have recently been re-engineered to accommodate the DL-30 and with some other improvements.
The cowl now mounts on a cowl ring so no fasteners are visible, and the engine is on a motor box which is stronger to handle the added power. We also added a stronger landing gear. When they come in about the end of September they will have two new schemes, too. They were taken from designs done by Kevin Elder, former owner of downonthedeck.com. Here are photos of the schemes (which may have been modified slightly) on larger planes. TF |

3D Hobby Shop is coming out with a line of 65" - 70" planes that will be suitable for the DLE 30.
Sounds like there's going to be a great market for this engine, as evidenced by all the manufacturers jumping into this. It could be the next 50cc .

The price of the plane alone will be $319. Combo with DLE-30/muffler, complete hardware, prop and spinner will be $679, a savings of $61. That will include one of our 19-8 bunny props and a 3" Dave Brown aluminum spinner. We'll have a servo package of 4 HD DS120M servos plus extensions for $159. TF |

It's a size that's big enough to fly well but still small enough to fit in a sedan. TF |
