That was me, but I will stop saying it as I am hoping the motor is a decent one. I'd still like to see DA come out with one. I'll be on it in a heartbeat. Just sick and tired about seeing all the complaints about DL, DLE, whatever. I know over half the problems come from operator error. But one thing, I KNOW THOSE DINKS STILL DON"T KNOW HOW TO MACHINE A PERFECT CIRCLE.

There's not a 26 to 30cc engine out there that will outperform a 3w-28, so there's no reason to be holding back for a "quality" engine. DA doesn't need to make one because 3w already does, and has for several years. They fly 40 pound plus planes everyday. You will obtain many hundreds of hours of flying with one. With every one.

So if the need or desire is actually there, nothing is stopping them from being fulfilled. But be prepared to pay a lot more than you would for any Chinese engine. If DA made one the pricing would not be much different from the 3w.

The problem is that people expect the same high quality with a budget brand that they would get with a premium brand. If you're not prepared to accept a little less quality for a lower price then I don't know what you will be able to do. There's no free lunch when it comes to quality. It costs more, and that's why so many people don't buy the premium brands. They cost more. It's always about the money.

Personally, I'd buy a DLE 30 in a heartbeat. They are quite well made little engines. I've had a couple apart in my hands and still don't see any significant reasons to be afraid of one.

Thanks Pat, I will order one as soon as I can!! My friends are not going to believe it, as they all know how I feel about DL. By thye way, we all flew out at the Fredricksburgh field this whole weekend. What an awesome weekend of flying!!! I used to be a member there a few years ago, but after this weekend, my friends and I will all be signing up again. What sucks is, the tiny little hobbyshop down the road, will be shutting down, due to slow business. Steve
