Just trying to find a resistor type spark plug for my motor, I have a bpm7y in it now, the manual calls for a bpmr6f, so i went and got two of them and the boot on the ignition is to big for the plug, so any help as to what type of plug I should use would be a great help. Or is it possible to change the boot to fit the plug. Thanks

Don't C.H. ignitions do a replacement plug cap for a small fee? I maybe wrong I haven't dealt with them in years.

Not sure about this engine but I have not needed a resistor plug for any of my gassers before. That aside the number is a heat range given the thread and depth in the head is right. One one way or the other is not much of a concern.
I guess I am saying if it matches the physical apperance in thread and thread depth it will work.

Most auto parts list them by stock number but it should be available. If I remember correctly NGK heat ranges go up with the plug number going down 7 to a 6 is a hotter plug. Be carefull going to a hotter plug if it ran ok before.... good luck. |

Guys thanks for all your help, I was just told that I should be running a resistor type plug in it, I am running a bpm7y in it now and it runs just fine so I guess I should just stay with that. Thanks again for all the help.

i would have thought all gas engines still use Resister plugs , when i raced r/c gas powerboats the engines were Zenoahs / Quickdraws / Mathe and you had to run a resister plug or you would get bad interferance.
