Default Great Planes Escapade Assembly Thread!!

Yessir, i just got myself a shiny new Great Planes Escapade. Backordered for weeks? PSH! The one LHS that i didn't think would have it, did!!

Just got it home. About to do the unboxing. I'll see if I can locate my camera and snap some pics of all the shiny new stuff. From what i saw at the LHS, looks to be a pretty nice model and comes with awesome stuff.

My setup will be the following:

Tower Hobbies .46
Futaba S3004's (A/E/T)
Futaba S3010 (Rudder)
JR R790 r/x
Hydrimax 1400 5 cell NiMH r/x pack
JR 8103

Most likely going to replace their pushrods with 4-40 hardware with dubro quick clip links as i'm really not a fan of that whole z-bending junk. Anyway, off to open some plastic bags!!

Max,
Don't blink........ The Escapade throws ITSELF together! I put one together a few weeks back for a guy at the shop. I had the airframe together ready for the radio gear in less than an hour. Hinges were factory done, the tail bolted on, etc. Everything has a place for something to go........ Neat plane and the $99.00 pricetag seemed pretty nice too. I hear the guy is using it for an everyday flyer out behind his office and really likes the way it flies.

Yup, i think I have a total of 45 minutes of work time (minus the 30 minutes of covering work) and shes ready for electronics and engine. I'm just waiting on my shipment from Tower to come in tomorrow with my servos and we'll be in business.

By the way, how'd you know my name? Roflmao

I try to get to know the people that get under my skin the most..... That way when I ask a fellow CIA operative to knock you off, everything is taken care of in a most sterile way with no witnesses......... Either that or I just click on your screen name and your personal stats come up and anybody can see your name. (Just don't answer your door for three more days......... LOL!)

Sorry for the lack of updates guys! Been pretty hectic around here.

I have pictures, just can't find the dang cord to upload them from my camera. Anyways, Maiden flight today was a success!!! Flew great. It was a little nose heavy (diving while inverted) but flew well. Rolls are nice and clean, so are loops and she's quick to boot!! Got 2 good flights in until my fuel like broke going to the remote needle valve. Nice deadstick landing without problems. Going to replace the lines and the tank with a dubro 10oz tank so that the fuel tank stopper isn't offset to the right. Also going to move my battery pack back some.

Overall, great flyer!!

Flew mine yesterday for the first time. First 2 flights were excellent. 3rd one ended in disaster , possibly interference issues.
I will buy another.
They are excellent with just a Thunder Tiger GP42, glue the tail feathers on, reinforce the landing gear mounts, glue the wing halves together and the wing tube in. I used a mini servo on the throttle to save weight and used just a single servo on the ailerons. Mounted the battery under the engine to balance and keep from adding weight.
