The 40% Cardens weigh the same as the new 43%ers.

The only thing they don't perform well is the stall. And by that I mean it takes more finesse on the pilot to make it look right. It can get mushy very easily. The PAU edges don't have this problem though. Any decent pilot could fly an Edge to victory with practice not just the Pros. The problem is that most flyers are just plain lazy. They don't want to fly the plane or trim it at all. If it ain't perfect out of the box then they try to find something that is.

Information in comparison.A friend of mine "Steve Swahn" has the 43% Carden Extra 260 and the weight came out at 38lbs.He has a DA 150 in it for power and it flu's the plane ausome.Pulls out of a hover with unlimited vertical and is a true performer.The 38lbs is with a glassed hatch.
So with all that said a 150cc engine is perfect for this airframe.
I did have the opportunity to fly his Extra and it fly's very light and the new 43% Edge should be no different providing it's built right.
This isn't going to turn into a bashing thread and I think it's clear what this thread is about.
All aircraft are good it just boils down to what your looking for and as far as Carden goes, Dennis and Caroline sell a top shelf product.

This Edge like the 43% 260 will come with carbon fiber wing and stab tubes.

Hey Guys, There will be a proto type built for the 43% Edge. I will be building it for Dennis later in Sept. Even though this is a blown up version of the 40% and will be a slam dunk, I will be doing the proto to insure all kit components will fit without issue. I have been flying my 43% Extra 300 this summer weighing in at 37# 10oz. with a DA-170. I have flown a 40% Edge for 8 seasons and decided to build a fresh one which is ready to install gear. After flying the 43% Extra I can't wait to get going on the Edge. It should come in about the same weight as the Extra and fly excellent on a DA-170. The new 40% will be owned by someone else.
I will keep you informed on the progress of the 43% Edge after I start the build.

I'm on the list for this Edge and can't wait to get mine.Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Dennis said the plans are for tapered ailerons on this bird.Will you be building it as per the plans or with some modifications that deviate from them?
