NEW EDGE 540!!

I just LOVE my 40% Carden Edge 540, by far the best giant I have flown to date....I wouldn't trade it for anything else, I'm going to have to get my hands on one of these newer Edges... A DA170 should pull it around just fine. Once you fly CARDEN you won't want to fly anything else.

I flew my first 40% Edge every weekend of them for all of those 8 season. I sold it to a buddy and he has flown it all of this year. It probably has close to 1400 flights on it and it still looks like new. I talked Dennis into the 43% after flying the 43% Extra.
I will be building the 43% Edge as a stock airframe. It will have no deviations as we want to test all aspects of the stock kit and also to get a baseline for weight as stock. I am confident that it will be in the same weight range as my Extra.
The only bad thing about doing this build is the snow will probably fly before it will be complete and have to wait till spring to fly. Maybe I talk the wife into a southern trip over winter. Maybe Jacksonville, FL event.

Providing the builder doesn't build it heavy the main reasons why it's lighter is because of the new motor box design,thinner fiberglass cowl,carbon fiber tubes included,lightened landing gear,better quality foam and wood.

They will return to the top, it is just a matter of time. You guys know that the 'cool airplane of the year' is always rotaing to something from the past. The Edge will be #1 aerobatic plane I think sometime in 2011!! lol

Bill I've always stuck with the Edge even when people were hard pressed to find a giant scale Edge ARF in production throughout the past couple years.In the past few months many ARF dealers are coming back out with them and I would very much like to see more of them at the fields opposed to the Yaks.Lets hope your right about a strong comeback in 2011.

Right on guys the Edge is one sweet plane. I have a totaly custom 40% Carden Edge with DA 150 on MTW cans and it is one bad A#$ machine. It came in at 36.4 # Eric Watz cut out every thing that could be done used light ply where we could and hand picked every sheet of balsa. The fuse was scratch built not from the kit. It flys like a feather at 1/8 thottle. I just put in my order for the 43% Edge. It will be done up in the Red Bull Kirby look. I love that color layout on the Edge. Caroline says they will be shipping the foam and wood out first and the cowls will come later due to the plugs needing to be finished. They dont want to hold use guys up on getting on with the build. I"M SO STOKED!!!!!!!

Hi Guys, Well the 43% Edge kit is in my shop right now. Today I opened the four boxes to check out the foam and plans. The cowl and canopy plugs are at the parts manufactures now and will be here also in the next month. I can't wait to buid and then fly this thing. It is going to be one awesome aerobat and will be the hotest 3D machine out.
Someone ask for pictures as I build. I don't have that kind of time available to put into a full blown build thread. But I will post a couple shots now and then just to tease those of you that hesitating on ordering one.
