everybody at the joe nall that had that setup used the jr regulators with the little fan on top and i also asked the guys that at the jr tent and they said if you use a lipo it must be regulated before the reciver.

love that picture

You can use any regulator that will regulate it to "normal" voltage.

yes you will need to use a regulator if you are using Li-on's. there peak voltage is at 8.4 volts which will fry the 5955's the 8711's will be fine at that voltage. i am currently using that receiver on my 101 yak with 8711's all through out. i have two A123 packs direct but with those batteries you don't need regulators for any servo

8711s can take the voltage, but it voids the warranty.

well i had this servo for over a year... so the warranty is over i guess...

my reg is the dualsky reg... how do i connect it??? it has 2 wires for batteries... two wires that go to the rx..and one switch.... so if i were to connect the batt wires to the JR leads on my batts... then wat is the purpose of the two heavy duty batt wires tat is on the rx????? sorry but i dont get this stupid rx.. lol... maybe im just dumb...

DUmp the regs. The Hitec 5955's can handle the lipo voltage as well. Of course your throttle will have to be able to handle the voltage, too.
If you use that regulator, DO NOT plug those JR leads into the servo buss. It won't burn anything but the receiver simply won't work. YOU MUST power the system through those heavy duty battery wires on the 9100, so you will have to change the connectors on the regulator. However, if the wire size is much smaller than the wires on the 9100 then you are defeating the purpose of the 9100. And if the regulator is not a super-heavy-duty killer regulator, capable of 15+amps bursts then it is probably not the best reg to use. And isn't Dualsky like a low-budget knockoff company? The highest rated reg I see on their website is the VR-8L, which is only good for about 8 amps, and it appears to have standard servo wire for the power outputs. I don't recommend it if that is the reg you have.
You must also understand that the big part that the servos and batteries plug into is not a receiver at all, but merely the power distribution part of this "Powersafe" receiver system. It is the satellites that do all the receiving of signals. They then send the info to the big part.

Yes, IF you are using 8711s and 5955s all around (including throttle). But again, it will void the warranty, unless you're not worried about it, or the warranty has expired.
