Default Check my spektrum setup please

I'm in the process of trying to aquire a 2.4 system to run my big birds on. In the mean time I'm borrowing a 9303 2.4 to fly this weekend's big bird event with. My experience with 2.4 is entirely from occasional thread reads, none very current so I want to make sure everything is done right and safe.

The plane is a 40% carden cap. 2 5955's on the wings, one each on the elevators, and 2 8611's run through a single matchbox on the rudder.
Setup will be a 921 reciever with 2 sattelites. Power will be from my turboreg fed by 2 4 cell li-ion TBM packs. I also will throw a D-cup I have into a spare chanel.

Will this be a sufficient power setup? I'll put the recivered in the front bottom of the plane with one sattelite up one side of the fuse and the other on the other side. Is this sufficient or do I need to get them up into the canopy or anything?

For now please debug my power system requirements and I'll post some install pictures for critique once I get it in.

Ah yes, I also forgot to ask: The 9303 has a lipo in it for power. I'd heard this was a no-no for JR 2.4 systems. Its been working this way for a while now with the old owner, should I trust it with my big birds or do I need to use a nimh pack to be safe?

lipo is just fine

setup sounds good, use the data logger and check it from all angles on the ground, then your good to go, thats the beauty of the logger, you know before you take off if you have a good setup.

Ian your set-up is fine,

I have been running a fromeco transformer pack in my transmitter for while now with no problems.

I have the same set-up you are running in my 34%, with dual dc-ups. I have one sat. in the turtle deck of my plane and the other is behind the fuel tank. Just bind and go. When you do a range check just turn everything on and hold the button on tx module to put the system into low power. Then walk 50 paces and check everything. If it responses good you are good to go. If you have any more questions just hit me up you have my number. Am goning to do my best to finish my new Dalton. Am going to need some graphics for it.

I don't know why I didn't think of calling you in the first place karl. For some reason I forgot you fly spektrum. Hit me up for those graphics - we'll bring it over some time, cut and apply them.

Unfortunately I don't have a logger

If I manage to get my hands on this setup permanently down the road (still working on that) then I'll buy the support equipment like the logger but until then its just borrowed equipment.

Even without the logger, you still should be fine to go, just make sure you range check it before you fly it.
