My Edge arrive yesterday.
Oh boy, I can't wait to fly this monster ! ![]() Engine will be DA100L with ES-composite pipes. Hitec 7950TH at ailerons and at the rudder (only one servo per surface), Hitec 7955TG's at the elevator. I'm plannig to use Smart-Fly power box (competition 12) what a superb product ! I have one at my EF Yak and I'm really happy with that. There is no correct manual whit the plane. Only extra 260 manual but that is whole different plane. I don't really need the manual but it is nice to know what they recommend with the CG and so on.

I was wondering the same thing.
I used to own an Xtreme Composite Edge 540... against the CompARF Extra 260, the Xtreme Composites plane was much faster on the same motor/prop, and it tended to float longer on landings. It coupled much worse, and I never got a good curve set for the plane. From a build perspective, the paint match on the CompARF is much better between the cowl and fuse, and there were many "little" things that CompARF does for you that Xtreme leaves up to you....including: placement of screws, holes and blind nuts to hold the stab on mounting of t-brackets on the canopy, placement and drilling of cooresponding holes and blind nuts in fuse for canopy hold-down Instruction guide for the Xtreme plane was a POS... not even written by the Xtreme folks. Control horns were not mounted into the ailerons/elevators Elevator hinge had slop from day one.. I had to install ball bearing bushings to resolve. None of these were show-stoppers, and it was my first composite build, so I didn't know what I was missing by not going with the CompARF. On a positive note, after 2 seasons of flying it before I sold it, there was no "imprint" of the wing on the side of the fuse. My CompARF MX2, by comparison, started showing paint wear signs after the first flight. So, some good points and some bad points for both. In the end... give me the CompARF. 4 turnbuckle length what is this ?
This is the length of the pushrod, servo to surface not including ball links Thanks for the info, I can order a few things. Plane should be here mid Nov. If I buy a piece here and there the little woman will not see a big hit on the CC P.S. I dont have a 260 so any measurements would helpfull The compARF sight does not have measurements on the 260

those come with the kit and ball links too so you don't need to buy these separately. Servo arms only.Servo arm for the rudder came with the kit also but you will need the aluminium servo disc where to fix the arm. 6 wing tube size (50mm) 7 stab tube size (20mm) Last edited by Kime; 10-20-2009 at 12:09 AM. |

Hope he's fine, cat. 5 typhoon doesn't sound good at all
. Checked for his last post:http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/f...d-today-2.html When someone will have pictures, videos, post them here or suply us with a link . Thank you. Composite ARF finaly replied that wing area is 0,73sq. meters. I don't actualy get it, but probably it's for 1 wing. If it is so than total wing area is 1.46 sq. metrs = 146 sq. decimiters = 2263 sq. inches. Last edited by freezer; 10-29-2009 at 04:01 AM. |

I will start building my edge really soon. Only engine is missing but I will get it in week or two.
Has anyone knowledge about the CG? Still there is no manual from the CARF and I don't get any info with the plane. Last edited by Kime; 10-31-2009 at 12:58 AM. |

I got a manual with mine. It is the 2.6m Extra manual?
I will be putting a DA-100L in mine with compact mufflers and every thing carbon including the spinner. I will be running HS7955 through out. I want it as light as possible!!!!!
