NE Region IMAC Championship Finals!
Hey Fellas!!! The end of the season is coming up quick so I wanted to make sure all of you had the necessary info for the Regional Finals in October so that all that want to attend can plan accordingly!
First, the contest will be a 3 Day Contest (October 9th, 10th, and 11th). The plan is to fly Multiple knowns and multiple unknowns and fly full days Friday and Saturday, and have contestants out at a reasonable time on Sunday to make the drive home. For ADVANCED and UNLIMITED, ALTERNATE SEQUENCES WILL BE FLOWN to avoid the possibility of Fly-Overs during rollers over the 3 days. The host club, the RC Propbusters, will be making the field available to us for the 3 days of the contest, plus the Thursday beforehand for those wanting to practice. The field address is 475 Norwich Rd, Salem, CT. I will also post the field coordinates as soon as I have them. Hotel Information: Motel 6: 4 King Arthur Drive/269 Flanders Rd, Niantic, CT 860.739.6991 Sleep Inn: 5 King Arthur Drive, Niantic, CT 860.739.1994 Hilltop Inn: 256 Flanders Rd, Niantic CT, 860.739.5462 Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino: Mohegan Drive, Uncasville, CT 888.777.7922 All hotels listed are 10 mins or so from the field. Camping and RV's are allowed (no hookups), but please touch base with me so that arrangements can be made and so that the club can plan ahead. All pilots that are planning on attending the Regional Finals, please pre-regsiter on the IMAC site (www.mini-iac.com) so I can plan accordingly. This makes it FAR easier to get the contest organized well in advance of the event date! Food will be available for sale by the club all three days of the event. Menu is to be determined at this point. Also, I was planning on arranging some type of dinner outting for any/all that are interested. I just wanted to get some feedback as to if there would be enough interest before I start to plan for it! John Banks ARD NE Region

Dinner outting sounds good if it's on Friday I actually can only be there Friday and Sunday. I have a wedding to go to on the 10th. I would have sworn this contest was scheduled for weekend of the 17th!?

Here are some shots from the field yesterday so you can get an idea of the facility. The corn will be gone by the time the event occurs, even though it really doesnt matter as there is tons of room. To put it in perspective, that is a glider with a span around 27 feet.
