No problem Jim, I'll give you a call jsut before I leave on Sunday.
We had lots of little rain showers today but we still managed to get two full rounds in today. I have some shots from early this morning but I'm in the middle of studying unknowns so no pics tonight We also had a very low (at times) wierd gray and white sky. I actually did not fly today. I did a practice flight first thing this AM and in the two minutes I was up, I totally lost orientation with Casper 4 different times, totally living up to the term "Ghost Plane". I'll fly tomorrow starting with my unknown and take today as a zero, no biggie since I'm not in the running for the regional championship anyway. Pretty much all of us ended up at Olive Garden for dinner tonight and have plans for another dinner at another resturant tomorrow night. The last count I heard was we have 28 registered pilots from all over the region. Nice field, cool club members making us feel very welcome and a bunch of visitors throughout the day. Stan is here doing his normal excellent job taking pictures, everyone is defenitely going to want to look them over when he tells us all they are posted More tomorrow night....

Just got back from dinner. What an excellent turnout for dinner. A total of 34 showed up including some of the club members. Once again the NE region is showing just how far we have come and how we strive to make everyone feel like a family.
Today was one of those days where you might ask yourself just what the heck are we doing. For those of you that were at the 2009 NAT's then you will certainly be able to relate what I'm about to explain. On average we had 15 to 20 winds with 30mph gusts and LOTS of gusts with temps that were in the 50's but with the wind it seemed loads colder. I think we had one of those "how the heck did he pull that off" moments today. Jake and Frank were both flying thier sequences. To cut it short, this was a very close call. What happened was Jake was coming out of a manuever inverted and Frank was ending a maneuver which just happened to be roughly 10 feet above Jake, maybe 20 feet at the most. What made it really interesting and scary is Jake had roughly no clearance to speak up to Frank but maybe and I do mean maybe, 5 feet above the trees and in very gusty winds. No I'm not kidding, it was that close, one little slip and neither plane would have survived and to top it off, Jake had to wait for Frank to pull into the vertical before he could "escape". This went on for around 100 feet. I will do another update after I get home tomorrow night...
