here you go , the " Bud Light " Laser is the prototype of Robert Godfrey's 35% er .. The Red/White/Blue one is the first production Laser of Mark Crawley ( Red Aero RC ) ...... they have a 102" ws , both powered by a DA 85 with a KS 95 rear exhaust ..oh yeah , the all up weight with fuel is 21lbs for the BL , and 20lbs 12oz for the R/W/B .... I am going to build another with a DA 100 in it next ..................

Does anyone know if there is a 50cc version of this airframe, either kit or ARF??? I've always liked the lines of the Laser.

One of the new DL 55 or something like that would pull around a 33% if it was built light.

I still love the lines of a laser and some day hope to get around to one of Jack Stricklands 40 percenters.
Here's number three and the last of the lanier 33's I built (sold it unfortunately). Also had a few others over the years.
18.5 pounds, over sized control surfaces and a 3W 80.

I am going to build one of the Godfrey Lasers (35%er ) with a DA 50 and a pipe ..in doing so you should easily have a 17-18lb 35% airplane ..

On their web site they still list the 33% Laser as in the prototype stage. It would be interesting to build an airframe that big and have it weigh in the 17lb range with a piped 55 or 58cc mill on the nose. I guess I better look into this a little more. It also looks like they airfoiled the tail feathers and got rid of the braces, is that true Donnie?
Anyway, thanks for the info.

the website has not been updated yet , there is a gentleman making a new web site for Robert .. The Red BL Laser is the pre-production prototype , the R/W/B Laser in the same pic is of the production airplane , which is lighter than the red one ..on both planes , the only carbon fiber is the spinner . There are a LOT of changes from the old Laser to the new , a lot ..

Here is mine the way it was flown. This one has the wrong cowl, I am putting on the correct cowl now but this is how it looked for a bunch of flights.

The Laser is the Jack Strickland 40% and I love it.
