That video was shot on the fourth flight on that airplane. Since then, many more flights have been put on the airframe and it is dialed in. All I can say is that it has a great amount of power, and is very impressive. At sea level, I'm using a 32 x 12 Menz prop.
Throttle transition is great, and there is hardly any vibration... just a few of the benefits of the 200. On this airplane, I'm using the following: 3- JR 8711's per aileron 1- JR 8711 per elevator 2- JR 8711's on the rudder 1- PowerBox Royal with (2) PowerBox 4000 mAh batteries and (1) Powerbox 1500 mAh battery on ignition 1- JR 12ch receiver I made a few minor mods to the airframe. One major mod was moving the rudder servos to the tail. Personally, I prefer direct set-ups, and using the DA 200, I could afford the extra weight in the tail with the added servos. With only (2) JR 8711's there is more than enough servo power for the rudder. The airplane is flying very well, and flies crisp. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. The next time the cowling is off, I'll share some photos of the ducting for the 200. Regards, John |

John, how do you like the 200 compared to the 170 for sequence work?

John is on the road heading out to tucson, from talking with him and watching the 200 in the 260 the 200 is the way to go for sequence type of flying.

Wow - I am running a 150 w/ MTWs and servos in the tail and it balances slightly nose heavy. Can you share with us where he put his equipment to get it to balance? I know Kurt is running is batteries in the tail of his 43% and Frank has his batteries aft of the canopy as well.
Also, was this plane special built for the 200 or modified from an exhisting airframe. Thanks! EDIT - sorry - just saw it was a Thunder Tiger 260. I was thinking Carden. Still - very interested. Any idea what the all up weight is? |

the 260 with the 170 john had the servos for the tail in the back but moved them back into the fuse to pull some weight off the nose. John also uses the ks1090 pipes which pushes the cg back so everything is in front of the wing tube. weight wet with fuel 43lb ish
on the 200 its a stock airframe that john and his dad just cut the motor box for the 200, the 260 with the 200 is locked in on rails for imac type flying its the ticket if thats what your going to fly, the weight is about the same on the 200 43 to 44 lbs its a penetrator up lines are a joke. Once john is done with the shoot out i will have him post his setup of the 200 for everyone to see thanks for looking and if your serious about the 260 from TT call Byran over at aerographixs he is the newest dealer for Ace thanks Dino
