Real Flight G4.5 Question

So I bought Real Flight G4.5 today and about 6 weeks ago, I bought a new computer. It's a Mac with a 2.66 Ghz system on a 20" screen. You can see the specs here:

I have installed windows XP since I have some programs that need windows that I need to run. I loaded the disc into my computer and loaded it and then I got an error message because my video card can't run it since it doesn't have 3D capability apparently. Is there anything I can do or did I just waste my money?

I think there is no workaround for inadequate video cards......

I had the same problem with G3.5 and a desktop computer I bought a few years ago... I wound up pulling the video card out of the desktop and just using the on-board video controller.... I'm sure there's some loss of performance, but I don't notice it. All of the planes, background effects, etc.. are very clear, and it seems to work fine. I'm not so sure I would be so lucky if I upgraded to 4.5.... but if your computer has a video card AND the on-board graphics controller, you might try pulling it out... can't hurt anything.

it wont run right with out a good video card. here is where i got mine it was about $50 and it came in like 2 days. its the geforce 8600 you gotta findout what kind of mother board you have because theres diffrent ports for the card. you probly gotta find a computer geek to find that out. lucky for me my nabor did it in like 5 minuets. i learned how to fly with the old g4, best investment you can make for this hobby. heres the link http://www.newegg.com/

Exactly. I had a brand new pc and the video card would not run real flight. I bought the same video card he did. A Geforce 8600. Runs it great and they're not expensive. Plug it in, load the driver and you're done.

I had the same problem initially with my Macbook Pro... If you go into your "about this mac" section, see if there is a secondary option for your graphics card. Mine had the 9400M and the 9600GT. the 9600GT is the one I think RealFlight will run on.

Did you Boot Camp your HD or did you Partition?

I did the boot camp and designated some number of GB on my hard drive for windows programs.

I just checked my tech specs. I have the 9400M video card which is suppossed to be able to handle 3D graphics. I also looked at the Mac Book Pros and some of them had both the 9400M and the 9400 GT graphics cards.
