Smoke is cool.......But.......
I have smoke in both my Lanier 33% Yak and my Hangar 9 35% Extra.
Smoke is cool, I don't use it all the time........But....... My Hangar 9 Extra flys awsome. It is 28 1/2 lbs. with the smoke system. I decided to make it fly even better, so I removed the smoke system. This is what I did and the weight that I saved. My wheel pants finally quite on the last flight, so I took them off ( dropped 4.5 oz. ) Removed smoke pump,tank, tubing, T, check, switch, and battery ( dropped 1 lb. 5.4 oz. ) Removed the Slimline smoke mufflers and put on the stock DL mufflers ( dropped 6.1 oz. ) That is a total drop of 2 lbs. 0.4 oz., which is bringing my into the ball park of 26 1/2 lbs. I am going to give her a try tomorrow night and see how BAD ASS this thing is gonna be.  I am going to keep it in my 33% Yak. It flys real good, but it isn't the Extra, so it is more my beater plane.
