Here's a sample of a trophy we'll be handing out this year.
5" OD annealed brass plate, 1/2" thick. ![]()

Hi,
Nice job. Are you planning on electro-plating it to prevent dulling? Is it going to be a wall plack or are you going to have a stand? Regards, Dave |

It's a COASTER for a big ass beer mug. (also being engraved with event and sponsors)
No plating. Kinda want it to dull/age with time. Gives it the nostalgia look. I'm debating on whether to run it through the sharks tooth tumbler to knock down the tool marks a little. I kinda like it raw machined though. Too late now since I pulled it from the chuck. Aint no way I'm going to try and indicate this biche back in. Here's a finished one: ![]()

Congratulations on a fine job.
A beer coaster, that makes good sense and a useful item/talking piece to boot - in fact a really cool idea (pun intended). How long did the machining take? Are you going to fit an anti-scratch surface on the rear? Dave Last edited by esc; 09-02-2009 at 10:18 AM. |

Machine time has been rather long because I have the same Haas VF1 that Moses used to engrave the 10 Commandments. In fact I think I still have the program in the control.
I'm really limited on spindle speed with ol girl so it's been a long winded project. (two days now) Grrrrrr. Just finished the last one. I'll be putting some felt on the bottoms. Thanks. Chad |

Oh man! - I just love your "Smokin' Hole" trophy - he! he!
Shouldn't really laugh, it's not that long since I could have been eligible for that trophy myself - pulled out of a loop with one of my helicopters - 4 inches below ground level. It was fairly spectacular, bits everywhere. Dave Last edited by esc; 09-04-2009 at 06:32 PM. |
