Default A follow up regarding Cactus Aviation

Some read my thread regarding getting a hold of Cactus.

FWIW:

I've talked with Bobby a few times and he's been helpful on each occasion. He sent me a set of reeds at no charge. Actually, that isn't completely accurate, he asked that I send him a T shirt from the Sturgis bike rally in lieu of payment (since I live here and which I did with no problem)

I sent my engine to him which had been in his shop a couple times before by the previous owner. He assured me he'd give it full attention and ensure it didn't leave until it was right. I'm not known for my patience so after two days of attempting to contact him I posted the thread. My engine arrived a day later. Such is my luck and now I'm enjoying the taste of shoe leather.

In closing. I asked a simple question. Had anyone heard from him. It then derailed into a public stoning of his business. Granted, I could have worded my thread a little differently, so perhaps I did entice/compel some to make less than favorable remarks. It's too late now to kiss a__ but suffice to say I have my engine and I am optimistic that it will run as advertised.

My apologies for speaking too soon.

Chad

He has been nothing but good to me. Yes, sometimes I have to try more then once to get him on the phone. Like he tells me if he's on the phone he's not working on engines. Dennis

Not everybody has a good experience with every vendor that advertises on this site. My negative experience, documented in the now closed thread, was completely factual and without undue finger-pointing. As I mentioned in the thread, there are many customers who swear by CA's customer service.

There were also recent threads pointing out negative experiences with TroyBuilt. I posted a very positive (again, factual) account of my experience with them. I also believe that the negative views expressed on those threads were factual.

It's good that we have a forum like this to share experiences, learn that nobody is perfect, and that likely nobody is out to screw every customer they come across. Thanks, FG for providing the forum for our use.

Chad,
Way to man up Dude! Wylie....... You got a way with words. Pretty eloquent there, Bud!
Bobby, you've answered the phone a time or two for me. When I can't get you, your East Coast office picks up! Maybe one of those headset, bluetoothy thingys attached to your phone would help when you're in the shop. When I talk to Gerhard, he's always spot on with his advice. Either way, I'm not gonna bad mouth either one of these guys. As for my DA, those guys are golden too! It's good to know, if I ever need service on either brand there are good people out there to choose from.
