I would be interested to know as well. I doubt you would find something compact enough to mount inside the fuselage as well as apply targeted chemicals to the fire area.

Its been done and can be installed within the model no worries. Todd Walters designed the TSFU on-board extinguisher system back in 2003 and it has been well tested and proven to work in a variety of situations, primarily in event of hot start or inflight fires ie pipe faliure... It may also save your model in certain landing/crash mishaps. Currently it is not commercially available but if there is a enough interest another production run maybe possible. PM or email me if your interested....

Cheers- Marty

That would likely depend a little on how many where done for a production run. Should be well under $300.00 USD I will chase up more accurate pricing and further spec info and options. And its made in the U.S.A also...

Weighing in at 7oz, the unit can be located anywhere in your model with a tube routed to the intake of your turbine (zip tied to the starter). When the unit is activated it releases CO2 straight into the turbine intake, robbing the oxygen and instantly preventing the possibility of fire. The CO2 also rapidly cools the turbine, and the best part is that this system is completely harmless to the turbine itself. The unit uses standard compressed CO2 cartridges 850 psi that you can purchase from any Walmart style store, not to mention the numerous sources online, and are completely user replaceable. torybuiltmodel.com will be selling the Flame Out system soon, the system will come ready to install, including the servo at the cost of $199.95 plus shipping costs. If you would desire a unit shipped to you before troybuiltmodel.com has them available, please contact me at RESJets@yahoo.com and I will see about getting a unit to you in a timely fashion.
