Default Newbee Jet guy Questions

Have a P-60 I want to put in a Formost 160 Nitro models plane...Anybody know the retracts /brakes that will fit this ??

How about a Bede BD5J that would be of the 14lb turbine size.. Any other suggestions for a home for a P-60 appreciated

Bill

Ive flown a mini boomerang on a P60, that would also fly a Reaction54, BVM F86, Tam F16. Alot of options.

I think my problem is sizing the turbine to the airframe....Kind of like looking at a 50cc plane vs a 150cc plane...My knowledge base is lacking... What do they use in JET TERMS to base the airframe size.... I see alot of 1/12 1/5 type sizing... Vs in Giant scale its 30/33/35/40%

1/12 1/5 is the same scaling size, just in fractions instead of percentages. Typically in jet size you use engine thrust ratings to determine what engine to put in it.... And the scale just so happens to end up being whatever it happens to end up as...

For a P-60 i would say most all of the smaller BVm models (electra, bobcat, f86, t33, etc etc) shokjet, boomerang, Tam F-16, A-4, Yellow Aircraft Starfire

Yep, you'd be looking at 1/8 size jets approx. Most of the jets will tell you the thrust needed as well.

Honeslty your best bet is to head to RCU jet forum and do a search of some planes you are thinking about. A P-60 is a popular motor so there is bound to be some input there.
