BADASS YAK NO MORE

yuh know... for a stunt to be bad ass... it has to have risk.... and when you are attempting to do some Hair-Ball stunt.... and the dice roll is against you, and your plane takes a dirt nap... well... it kinda pisses you off... but at the same time you just gotta say... "THAT WAS SOME GNARLY SCH!T"

Though I hate to see planes suddenly assume Junk status.... this is exactly how every plane should die.... doing battle with fate and chance.....

If it was a radio failure, or a shoot down..... THAT REALLY SUCKS!!!!

Snap... congratulations on having clankers like churchbells!!!!

There were four of us hovering in very close proximity when this happened. At the exact second of impact, the entire property went dead silent. The moment was surreal. All I wanted to do was get my plane back on the ground. The look on Elie's and Steve's faces were a mixture of bewilderment, sadness, fear, anger, etc,etc, etc. I consider myself close friends of both these guys and still can't believe the awful feeling I got in my gut....especially considering these were model airplanes and not people laying dead in front of me. As much as I know how Steve had poured his heart into building that 260, I knew he really felt worse about Snap's plane than his own. It was sickening to see two friends so upset.

The mood of the entire event changes at that moment. As we picked up the pieces, disassembled our camps and went to say goodbye, Steve walked over to Elie to apologize one more time. Obviously Elie knew this was nothing more than an accident that could have been caused by any of us. Elie said to Steve, 'the only way you can apologize is to hover next to me again'. I personally can't wait to get the opportunity to fly with both of these ambasadors of this great hobby again. Toy planes can be replaced.....still glad no one got hurt!!!

What else can you call two guys that respect each other and act like this when something goes wrong ? I call them "True Modelers" and "Gentleman".

Thanks for all the support, I woke up this morning and I already forgot it happened, Comp ARF will be getting a phone call for sure, not sure if I can wait till tomorrow after Labor day and this time the Yak will have a DA 200 in it, same identical scheme.
