Default showtime 90 4d

hey guys ...well im moveing up to a nicer plane so I have read all i can find on this plane and it seems to fit my flying style the showtime 90 4d,so my question is will this plane take a 50cc quadra and still be nimble as the nitro guys are showing in there videos ? reason being Im trying to get more into the bigger gassers and if i can set this plane up reasonably well i think its a good 3d flyer.

A 50cc Quadra !!!!!!!!!! Yer joking right
I have this plane with a 125 Saito and thats plenty of power but you could fit a 26 gasser on it and performace would be ok a tad heavy. One of the guys here 3Dguy did this ......but a 50 quad naaaaaa prolly tear it to pieces....its only light build you know.

no a 50cc engine is way to big for this airplane. a mld28cc might be a good gas choice but i think it will be to heavy still. if you want a smaller gasser plane try to find one that is designed for it. cermark has some, extreme flight is supposted to come out with one. aeroworks has there 90-120 yak and a mld28 is a good engine on that plane but it does have alittle wing rock and it needs to be kept light.

50cc is waaaaaaay to big for this plane dude it needs a good saito 150 or similar power for it my buddy has one with the saito 125 in it and it flies just fine just not alot of extra power to get out of a serious situation

just save your money and get a real 50cc/30% plane you will be alot better off. thats not a very good plane from what i understand. you cant go wrong with a good 30% yak. i dont think it will cost that much more for a plane that you will probly fly forever.

Don't do it. Go buy a 50cc plane or get a Saito 125 for the Showtime.

Use a YS1.10S. I have the 110 in my Showtime. Very good flyer.

Just finished one of these with a YS110.
Im not even sure the footprint of the firewall would be big enough to mount a 50cc!

the instructions let you know what the minimum is. for mine i used hitec 5625's they are rated at 130 oz of torque and .13 speed at 6v. i would stick around that. make sure at least it's a metal gear servo and digital is a really nice feature. if you can afford it get even bigger servo's that way you can put them in a 50cc gasser or bigger because you know it's going to happen.

Ballsy I have flown this plane 2 ways.

The first one was with a evolution 1.00nx in it. It flew really lite and I loved it But it was alittle weak on power for me.
I then Flew it with a spe 26 in it. That had all the power that I needed but the other guys are right it made it heavy. If you want to fly 3d with it I would suggest going with a 120-150 engine in this airframe. The Evolution had the power to fly the 3d stuff but I wanted a little more response when I punched the throttle.

If you are looking into having a plane to huck around before you move up to a gasser. This is a great plane. I wish that horizon would come back out with this plane. The only bad reviews I have ever read, where when people set up the plane too heavy. Keep this plane light and it should be a rock solid flyer. If you do decide to go with this plane make sure that you lay you tank on its side and back alittle. The supplied tank that came with mine had the outlet higher then the carb which I had flooding problems until I laid the tank on its side.

an os 120 might be a really good choice for this plane. they make good power and i believe 30oz with muffer. the 125 would be ok i think but install a perry pump and run heli 30% fuel and it might be alittle better. even a saito 150 would be pretty good here. but again install a perry pump. i have had several saito's and they increased power with a pump. then you can put the tank back on the cg.
