We use a drop of CA on the hub, on the high side, kick it and repeat until its balanced...both ways.

Durbo balancer, first do the tips (I use urathane on the back of the light tip) Once those are balanced at 9 and 3 O'Clock balance the hub. Put one tip a 12 o'clock and the prop will move so the heavy side of the hub is down. Cut a piece of velcro (fuzzy side) and put it on the light side and repeat. If the prop moves to the heavy side again hit the velcro with some thin CA and keep adding CA until you can put the prop in any position and it will stay.

That's exactly how I do it too. Has always worked very well.

Great Video, just moving into giant scale aircraft and have a 22x8 to balance. I also have the Dave Brown 4" spinner. It's too long to fit on the Dubro balancer, any ideas on the best way to balance this spinner?

Thanks Chase.

Of course you can balance large spinners on the dubro balancer. Have the balance wheels in the same configuration you would have for a large prop overhanging the table edge and on the balance shaft slide on in this order from left to right:

First cone with tip on left against the stop
spinner backplate with front surface on left
Second cone with tip on left
Spring
Washer
tubeing

Then fit the spinner cone to the backplate and balance away!

You forgot to say how the cone can be held onto the backplate without affecting balance

I suppose it depends on the type of spinner you use. If you have the type with one screw from the front then you would have to tape the cone on or something, but the procedure works well for spinners with perimiter screws.
