Our "Gas Cities" stations here in Indiana sell 100 octane racing gas. Although I haven't been flying lately, it's all I use and its all I have used for a long time. I did a little homework on this fuel and basically it's made by Rockett Fuels and sold at the Gas Cities stations. Its 100 octane no lead, don’t confuse this with 100LL Av gas which is low lead and completely different blend. The gas I mention has a minimum of a 2 year self life, will not go stale and is blended to mix with 2 cycle oil without issue. There's no increase in running temperature, it's extremely consistent in its blend and has worked well in every gas engine I have used it in. You can put up a plane wet and in 2 years it'll fire right off as this type of fuel will not varnish, its blended and not distilled like typical pump gas. It smells good, has a pretty blue color and there's no disadvantage to running this other than the 4.00 per gallon cost. We have several others that use this and there's been no problems with it. Technically speaking it has a faster flame speed that burns 100% at 290° where as pump gas is around 400°. It burns much cleaner and more efficient. If you burn a lot of fuel it's probably not a big deal and 93 is just fine but I have several planes that set over extended periods of time and this is where the big advantage comes in for me. My motors all love this stuff and my weed eater pisses off my neighbors. BTW its 100% legal to use in your grocery getter in all 50 states, it's no lead. I've run too much of this stuff in everything imaginable for someone to tell me it’s a bad thing, try it you might like the fact that your carb stays sanitary..Just my opinion and I'll stay with it..Walt
so far: G62's, G26's, BME 76, 100, 102, Da 100-150, 3W80, 100, 106, 150, A homelite chainsaw and my Stihl weed banger all run nice and cool and fire up everytime
