Default Fly for tots questions

I have never been to a large event before, and i definitely have never flown at one before. I was just wondering what to expect. Also, what should i bring other than myself chair and my planes? Do people tailgate at these events? I usually fly by myself at in my college's parking lot so this is a change for me. I got my AMA membership months ago and i havn't even needed it lol. Thanks in advance!

all man your in for a treat. bring a camper and a bbq, get there as early as you can, like thursday. bring a lot of money theres gona be a ton of deals there. as far as flying, it depends on your skill level. i dont want to discourage you here but when theres like 7 35%ers in ther air at once its kind of crazy if you never did it before. takes a lot of getting use to. i think the best way to start is keep your eye on your plane, have a good spotter, and fly above the bulk of the planes untill your comfortable. you have to have your spotter tell the others when your landing.

wawsha,
It is the most laid back event you may ever go to. We have lunch and drinks at a very busy concession stand and a Saturday night BBQ ($8.00) and there will be a blugrass band on Sat. night. Bring a chair, some cash, some cooler weather clothes for the mornings(ask me how I know, last year pulling in at 8:30 am in shorts and a tshirt and it was still 40 degrees) and any planes you can fit. I was intimidated also at the first few big events I flew at, the key is just to focus on your plane, ask anybody around to spot for you and make sure they look at the OTHER planes not yours. You will have great time. It is one of the few shows I have been to where all types of planes and jets are in the sky at the same time. I see from your avatar you have a EF, Chris will be here along with Lee Morey both great guys to talk to and watch fly.

Any more questions let us know, I used to come down as a visitor now I live here so I have been on both sides of the fence.

Wes
