I am trying to bring them in as a distributor but don't seem to get any response from them whatsoever. If they are reading this thread, please pm me.

Ohio Model Products is the USA distributor of OMP/EG Aircraft products. We have in stock 100cc Yak SP-55M and Extra mid wing, 85cc Raven in both black and blue color schemes and 85cc Extra 260 in orange color scheme. Coming the end of Oct or first week in Nov, 50cc Yak, Extra and MX2. There will be two color schemes for the Yak either yellow or white base coat with the same color scheme. The MX2 will be both color schemes on EG Aircrafts website. They have in prototyping now, a 50cc Raven and slick 540 and a 100cc MX2. The 50cc Raven and slick 540 should be ready the first part of 2010. The 100cc MX2 is unknown when that will go into production. The 150cc Raven was built under Fraser Biggs' suppervion. Frazer has all of the prototypes and his plane will have it's "coming out party" at the Tuscon shoot out. Production schedule will be announced shortly and all of the EG Aircraft dealers are getting line to order some including OMP. I hope this answers some of the questions about EG Aircraft. OMP's website is www.ohiomodelplanes.com.

We visited the EG Factory in China last week.
When they say "distributor," they are looking for a company that will purchase one half of their annual production, ship it to the US, warehouse it, and distribute to EG retailers throughout the US. Much like Great Planes. The other half of their annual production goes to the international market.

Right now, If you have enough money to take delivery of a full container, you can order directly from EG. Same thing with Pilot RC. Chief and TBM sells Pilot airplanes, but they won't say no to a company ready to buy a container or two.

There has been a few different build threads on here for EG planes, Like the OMP Extra and Yak. The MX2 was just done but it was a prototype build. OMP is willing to stock more of the planes if they can get a response from FG members and RCU members by buying the planes. I'm sure some of the guys on here know what a container of planes cost. so just buying one or two containers of planes and sitting on them is a big risk.

Thats what Scott had to do. Buy a container of 100 airplanes at a time. Hard to sell that many "new to market" airplanes. And especially if they are all the same airplane. The Chinese want their money, now, not later. Good Luck to anyone dealing with EG. Shame, because they build very good aircraft.

If you don't order a container at a time, it's not really worth their trouble to tool-up for the run. Especially with a new design. You can't imagine the forms, jigs, templates and molds that go into a new production run. It's somewhat easier the second time.
EG has a sonic welder that dries the glue in the wings as it's compressed in a form. That's how they make their wings so straight. It's a big extra step, but it makes for a true flying airplane.
They also have a lower cost brand called Slipstream that they're coming out with.
They have some cute little electric designs that they were building while we were there too. They looked nice.

Tony Greene is doing the build thread and testing on the 100cc MX2 Prototype. He's waiting for it to come in now.

Ohio Model Products has purchsed 3 40' containers from EG Aircraft since April of this year and have two more in the pipeline. The planes that have the OMP/EG Aircraft logo on them are planes that are designed by OMP and we own the rights to those in the USA market. Planes that say EG Aircraft on them are available for sale to anyone. OMP is importing EG Aircraft planes along with our planes. We currently have in stock 4 planes, 2 OMP/EG Aircraft and 2 EG Aircraft. The 100cc Yak-55 and Extra Mid-wing along with the 85cc Raven and Extra 260. Next month we will get 3 50cc planes, the Yak-55, Extra mid-wing and MX2. When the 50cc Raven and Slick 540 are ready along with the 150cc Raven, we wil get some of those. We will offer engine and plane combos with the DLE-55 and DLE-111. The 150cc Raven with the DLE-222 4 cyclinder is going to be an awsome combination! What OMP needs is your help in getting the word out that we have these planes and have more interesting planes coming. We only have the 4 planes that we have in stock on our website now, however, we are in the process of a major overhaul of the site to put up the new planes that are inbound. Again with your support OMP will be able to bring to you the full line of OMP/EG Aircraft.

You are correct Bulldog. There are certain EG products that are made specifically for OMP. They are all extremely good quality and great flying airplanes.

I really want one of the 150cc Ravens for myself! Currently though EG has not committed to a production schedule on this one. Frazier will have it at the TAS so we should get some good ideas how well it does there. I'm on my second 85cc Ravens so far.......don't ask about the first one.

Hi Mike,

Do you preffer the Raven over the OMP 100 CC extra for 3D?

Thanks

The 85cc Raven is an insane 3D machine so I'd have to say yes. The Raven is shorter coupled and thus tumbles a little better. Using a 3W 85 motor which has just as much power as my DA100 means a lighter more power to weight combination. The Raven is slightly smaller than our 100cc Extra as well. For all around IMAC and freestyle the Extra is better. If you just want to huck then I'd pick the Raven.
