MILES REED
I'm saddened to have to make this post, but we lost a great modeler and true friend last night.
Miles Reed who I'm sure everybody has heard of or known, passed away last night in a hospital in his home town of Canton, Ohio. He was 83 years old, and had a great passion for the hobby and was a dear friend to myself and many modelers that came into contact with him through the years. Reports are that he was seen flying with buddies this past weekend, and was in good spirits and very alert. His wife has been ill for a few years, and he had the task of taking care of her recently. From what I understand, she is not in great health at the moment. Miles, we're all going to miss you and the wonderful stories you entertained us with through the years. God speed.... Frank

Miles was certainly an interesting gentleman. I've often hoped that I could do what he did when I reached my 80's. Sorry to see him go........and I know he's in a good place.

Miles was a true friend and great mentor to me when I started flying. My wife and I spent countless hours with him at the field laughing and joking. We will miss him greatly. God speed Miles.

I only met him once in Roanoke, Va but he was one of a kind and man could he build, wooden wheelpants and cowlings.
