2009 Athens Model Aircraft Club Fun Fly (Georgia)
The fun fly this weekend is cancelled, the field is under water and it will take a week or so to dry it out.
.......... Our club is holding it's 2009 fun fly, details are below. For those coming to the huckfect the following weekend in Atlanta, stop on by and do some flying. Below are pictures of the field, plenty of wide open space, any type aircraft welcomed. ......... When: Saturday, October 17, 2009 ( Rain Day : Sunday, October 18, 2009 ) Time: 8am - Dark AMA Required To Fly Pilot Fee: $10 Spectators are Free - Bring a Chair Hotdogs, Chips and Drinks will be available Club will be holding a raffle for great prizes Pilots Please RSVP by emailing: rjszabo@bellsouth.net Directions: Our field is located off of State Route 15, 15 miles south of Athens and 14 miles north of Greensboro. Turn onto the first side road north of the Oconee river bridge, at the sign for the Curtis Sand Company. Follow this dirt road for 3/4 mile, we are at the second right-hand turn. If you have a GPS receiver, we are at N 33 42.778, W 83 18.356.
