use a 2000mah battery. i have used nimh batteries with great succes on this sized plane. 1000 mah seems alittle small.

Yep and as Curtis mentioned in your other thread, 100 oz-in metal gear servos for all surfaces.

Yes MG would be good! Anything past a .60 size plane is asking for trouble when using standard servos IMO. Than again, I wouldn't want standards in a really high speed .60 racer either. When it comes to giants, standards are good for throttle, bomb doors, and maybe flaps. Hitec has some decent lower end budget priced high torque servos that are MG. The standard servos won't fly it as well if they can at all and also you'll risk losing the plane.

I would use a single 6.0V 2000mah NIMH Hobbico pack for a decent num of flights or a 1200mah min if you don't fly many flights.

Fully charged I can get three flights with a little room to spare using an 1100 mah pack on a heli and this is with a gyro and digital MG servos. I do plan on going with a 2000 pack really soon as I just changed out the servos a bit ago for an upgrage. These are HS 5495's, I believe. I'm on 72 mhz so I don't know about the Futaba FAAST, but perhaps you have a problem with the radio?

Gosh it'll be such a pain in the ass getting it fixed now if its the radio...a freind got it for me from malaysia coz it was selling much cheaper there. But seriously had there been a problem with the radio...it wud have given me problems with my 50cc plane on which i had three flights with it, same rx.

It all depends on the battery. A NiCd 1000mah 4-cell should have enough discharge current for one flight. Did you do a load test on the battery to see how much voltage it holds at a certain load current like .5 amps or 1 amp?

naa...my bad though.but whts really interesting and strange that ive found out just today after meeting up with a buddy who was at the field that day.he says he was stand very close to the crash site ...before the plane took its last dive he heard the engine dying and that was exactly when i switched off the tx.ws trying to switch it off n then on to see if i cud get it out of the lock out but it was too far away n late to observe if it worked.
