Maybee but its hard to fly just the tail with no motor and its hard to fly the main wing with out any elevators or rudder. So i guess a 25% +33% plane = a yard sale!

Of course if both planes are at home in the hanger the chances grow slimmer yet. Leave them at the store and take up knitting and I guarantee you will never be in the fix your in now.

Hey, I'm just kidding. Someday I hope to have a plane big enough to have a midair with. These .40 size things are really hard to hit.....
I think I disagree with this. Two planes flying around in roughly the same direction (pattern) it is less likely to have a midair. A plane hangin' on it's prop is a sitting duck.

I am probably not as attentive to my own plane as I should be or maybe most are because I always have one eye on the others as well. If this multi tasking becomes too much I just get way up above the others or land.

Fact is I do not like to fly "around" in circles doing what I like to do, I come down center of the runway both ways. I guess reverse cuban eights are my favorite. I go way up and come down and do it again if it clear enough. But thatis what I like to do most. SImple and fun for me.

I usually end up with a good group and sharing space is not an issue.

But midairs is what it is. It takes TWO to have one so no one can be blamed. You have just as much responsibility to get out of the way as the other guy has to miss you.

Here is a pic after the canopy blew off 4th flight during a wide open double snap. But before that the plane flew great after re tuning the motor for cooler weather.

Yeah it was a high of 65 today. A little chilly when the clouds were covering the sun but decent when it was shining

flew three times today with no problem. 4th flight on take off the reciever locked out and put the plane in a wide open climbing circle. Chased it in a truck for 3 miles. when it hit the jet stream it changed directions and we lost it. people on the grond saw it come back over the field still wide open still climbing. they lost sight of it and finaly herd the motor die. Didnt find it say the least. I think this might be a sign that its just not meant to be.

You ever hear about failsafe? 20 seconds of prevention could have made sure you would find that plane... and make sure the motor was at idle.. or cut off!

Forgive me. So your receiver dropped signal and failsafe failed. My apologies for being a dick.

Yeah i guess that is what happened. Sorry for snapping back at you as well. I have two regualtors two batteries two switches completely redundate all of which are fromeco. I dont know what actually happened. I took off and made a left hand bank corner and about 25 ft on the other side of the field i had no controll at all. it was locked in a left hand bank slowly climbing. I programed the failsafe when i built the plane. Im using Futaba Fasst 2.4 10c radio with the 8 channle high speed reciever. Im hopefully going up in an ultralite tomorrow to look for it.

sorry to hear that ken, it truly sucks when you loose a plane. it really sounds like a power failure, but with a redundent system it's almost impossible.
