Was it out in a field hid by trees or what?

Ken, glad you guys finally got it. Does the electrical system look too damaged to figure out what happened? Hope you get it figured out.

ken i went and unpluged the battery's, went ahead and cheacked for a charge and was suprised to find after 28 days laying in the woods one pack shows 7.9 and the other shows 7.84 do you cheak ion packs differently than nicads, i know i don't know anything about your setup or how the modern packs work but i thought they would be dead. guess when you get home from school you can tell me what i'm doing wrong, study hard son dad

there are three batteries two on the reciever and one on the ignition. They shouldn't have any charge in them but the two you checked obviously do. As long as there over 6 volt there not hurt. I will have to load check them when i get home but they should be ok. How did the new ignition that was on the plane look?

Well if there is batt power left either the crash unplugged them or they became unplugged in some fashion durring flight. That could explain the plane going awol.

dad did say the stringers that held the batteries in were broken so i think they broke in the crash thus unplugging them.

Makes sense. On my last plane crash the ESC and flight batteries got pulled out with the front of the plane when it separated. The pack got thrown about 10 feet from the motor box and cowl.
It still amazes me that we still get receiver issues with the 2.4GHz technology. I've yet to have one, but I've heard of a couple in my local club over this past season. Both were Spektrum, though. I fly Spektrum and haven't had any issues. I raced RC cars with FASST in my Futaba 3Pk radio and never once had a glitch. If I didn't have so many receivers on Spektrum, I'd be tempted to go back to Futaba with their new 8-channel setup. Tyler
