Wooooohoo that looks great fun .........so much better than a runway. I tried this a few years back and got the floats all farked up in their correct position .....result was a submarine for a while until I got em right.

A BH 50% CUB would rock with floats.

It was the first time I had seen it in real life. It was really cool and a ton of fun. I gotta get me a set of floats for one of my planes.

Really ....they are a blast. Mine wore out eventually i made em from plywood and balsa with foam and then glassed them. Hey ya know they work great on snow too......I tried that also...think thats what wore em out though

That is the same one. The wing tips are still kinda needing some T.L.C. Scott said he didn't want to do much work to though, until he found out if it would work at all. It was pretty cool, Scott has come a long way and is actually landing all his stuff well now. Time on the sticks is all ya need. I have to go to Lake of the Woods today, I may stop by the airport and see you guys there on my way back.

Are you gonna make it to our fly-in this Saturday?

I didn't know Scott had a cub. Very cool. Did he fly it behind the trees at one point in the video?

Did not know you guys were having one! My Extra's a little screwed up right now. Busted the firewall out last Sunday on a goofy landing after an awesome flight. I guess I should fix it asap, if not, it'll be helis for me, still don't have a motor for my CompArf Extra. I'll get fixin' and try to be there!!!

I wish I had pics my friend but I hardly ever take them. A vid would have shown lots of splashing and some steam then me swimming in freezing water to retrieve the model. Unless you like seeing perky nipples on a near middle aged man after a cold swim I doubt the vid would be much fun to watch.

Sounds like the Balsa USA Laker I had........... It was more like a Jet Ski...... I put 4 deg of UP thrust in it, and it still would hardly come off the water...... Until I tried to reduce my throttle usage on the TO run... Half power worked well!!!

I know what you mean. Floats are cool given the right place to use em and model. An extra would look mean with them on (who cares about scale). The only downside that kills the fun is having to get the model if it gets stuck out in the water. Even a boat takes time ........can wear thin after a few tries. But snow.......now thats a blast.
