If one uses a cost versus benefit comparison the Wild Hare planes win without much arguement, especially when any of the package deals is factored into the purchase. You'll get the standard lines about how this or that other brand performs better but all of them cost significantly more than a Wild Hare, but without a comparable increase in benefit. PAU and EF make some excellent aircraft but the prices are above what I would like to spend.. How much do you want to spend?
If you're on an extremely tight budget then perhaps some of the Nitro Models or Rich Models aircraft will work out, but know that all of the three previously mentioned manufaturers have higher quality levels. |

Are the Nitro planes or Richmodel covered in ultracote or monokote? I have had bad experiences with chinacote. Would not want to go thru that again. I was hoping to get a good 50cc plane in the low $400s. Less would be better.

If you are looking to buy everything new, here's what a Wild Hare Extra 260 package for $1,367.00 would look like;
Airplane (fast build), hardware (very complete), DLE-55 engine with muffler, prop, Dave Brown aluminum spinner, 5x HD 9150 servos with extensions and MPI aluminum arms, A123 2300mah battery pack, Smart Fly super switch, battery charger for A123s (and other types also) and ignition switch. You would need to provide a servo for the throttle and a receiver to make it fly. I think it's a lot of bang for the buck. TF |

remember, you get what you pay for. I understand wanting to save money, but....... what's the point if you're unhappy every time you land.
If you could put a dollar value on landing with a smile, as opposed to being pi$$ed, what would you pay? say, $5, well, in 20 flights, that's $100 wasted on a cheap airplane. Now, I'm not saying get the best. I'm saying not to undercut yourself just to save a few dollars.

I know you said you didn't care for the edge,but I had a chance to fly an 88 inch edge with a DA 50 from peakmodel and it was very impressive. Kits $469, they have others also. www.peakmodel.com

Without a doubt, either the WH Sukhoi or Edge is exactly what you are looking for. I have the sukhoi....canister ready....sub $500......fly's great on either a DA or DL 50......plus its different from everything else......and you'll get used to people calling it a yak.....
