We are working on getting some of the 50cc Ravens along with the 150cc Ravens. Production schedules from EG tell us they should availabilty in March.

March!??, man that sounds like a long time when you've decided this is the one you wanna get.
After going back and rereading this and other EG build threads, there are some other nice items that come along with package that aren't included in others packages. i.e..carbon spinner & gear.
It also sounds easily obtainable to achive somewhere close to a 16lb. RTF weight.
Geuss I'll see if I can wait that long?

Yep I know! Could not believe the production schedule either but I think the focus is getting the final 150cc Raven perfected right now with Frazier Briggs.

I think you will find they are shipping. The prototype is one of the best flying 50cc planes I have had my hands on.

Ok, I just wasn't sure since I've noticed on ChiefAircrafts site that they've been out of stock or not shipping for quite some time. I was tossing the idea of maybe the EG slick 540 but I really love the scheme of the white raven. I still miss my little .46 size raven from back in the day !

They are loaded on the container along with several other models we will be picking up from EG just for OMP. For those that are not in the shipping business, Ship transports from China have been cut in half due to worldwide economy situations so schedules have also suffered for everyone. Our container is supposed to leave today actually. We expect to have them early Aug. We are getting 50 cc Ravens, Slicks, and SBach, and 150cc Ravens.

Great thread, got any more pics of this plane? Does the elevator servo mount inside the stab or on the fuselage? Love to hear more, not much out there about this plane.

elevator servos are in the stab like all the EG/OMP planes. That is the ONLY way to do it so you don't mess with linkages if you have to take the stabs off.

How is this plane any different than the EG Extra 300 mid wing, besides the obvious color scheme?

Raven has 1" more wingspan.
Wing Area: 1465 inē(94.5 dmē)

Extra300 Mid wing:
Wing Area :1460 sq. in.(94.2 sq.dm.)

Also the Extra doesn't have the blended TE of the wing at the fuse.

I'd get that Slick 540 in yellow/black in a hearbeat if I didnt already get the MX-2.

Raven and Extra are just two different scale airlanes. The Raven is slightly shorter coupled and thus in my opinion better at tumbling manuevers whereas the Extra/Yaks would be better at IMAC manuevers. However the difference is so small all the airframe styles perform well across the entire spectrum of 3D and precision manuevers. Also the Extras and Yaks have more taper on the leading edge of the wing than the Raven. The full scale Raven uses the Zivko Edge wing which is a straight leading edge. The scale models incorporate a slight taper on the leading edge for more pronounced stall characteristics...something you want for IMAC.
