Me thinks you guys should call in a good CPA. Something reeks. No way there could be this much "power struggle" without some kind of personal gain.

I might load up my work truck with a plane and ride it over for a weekend just to meet some of these people whose whole entire reason for existing is to have a strangle hold on a group of guys that just want to see their birds fly in the sky.

Someone should inform the King that if he kills all his subjects he is king over nothing.
Pick me up on the way in Cincinnati.

I'm joking kinda. I have never failed to quit. Cold Turkey and it hurt. Once I decide it is done I do it. BUT. I'm puffin' away as I type. I had to set it (smoke) down to type my third sentence in this run. Can't stand smoke in my eyes.

All that said I have quit for years at a time every time I quit. Once for seven years. Twice for about 2-3 years. And one other time (the first ) for over a year. The reasons I started back (excuses) how ever you want to lable it varies. The first time I did it just to prove someone else wrong. That's a teenager for ya !

I get a real hard spot in threes. Third day is a bitch. After three weeks I start to rethink quitting. Three MONTHS later I hit another soul search and have to bite my knuckles. Each time the severe jones only lasts a day or two. After that it is home free and only a dumbass would start back.

ME.
That is so funny the way you, have put it, still laughing. Zoomer, I can't tell you how much the power of supportive friends and family play a part in sticking to it. I agree with you it is not that easy, on the 6th day, but all the support is helping me. I wish you could join me it would be such a boost. But I won't say you must because that is what you have to do when you are ready. I am saving almost 16 to 24 $ a day, let alone the damage to my lungs etc. Thanks for sharing your story, I understand it is not easy.

The truth is, it pisses all THOSE people off when the new guys are better pilots than them by the end of thier first season! ............
Your post here is very true. Thanks I wish the place was filled with all kinds of airplanes and pilots, they hate that. Sorry but that is what the Admin will do if elected. Open for all, all welcomed in the old tradition of the SSRCC club. WIN or Lose that message will continue until things change.

Bob Morse, who was a past president of this club, also called me and I spoke with him for almost an hour. To sum up his opinions, he feels that if we are open and welcoming, that people will come to the field and fire rockets and free-flight craft that may end up in the prison and we will lose the field!! He also feels that GS should be ban and when asked why, he said, for no reason, the club can simply vote to ban them and there doesn’t have to be any reason. If we don’t, we will lose the field! He also feels that all club members should be able to yell at and scold other members openly and often if they feel they have violated any club rule. Finally, he feels that there should definitely NOT be any form of written notice of a violation whatsoever, no grievance procedure, no incident reports, no reporting to the board in written form at all, but if a club member is deemed as violating the rules even once, they should be expelled from the club! When I asked if someone accidentally flew over the flight line, should they be expelled from the club, he said YES!!

I also asked him about what should be done when someone falsely accuses someone of breaking the rules, like has been done to us multiple times, and I’m talking right to my face. He didn’t believe that anyone in the club would do that. He never said, even after being asked multiple times, that there should be any repercussion for someone verbally or otherwise falsely accusing a member of breaking the rules.

Now to find out that he said these things to Baj is totally unacceptable to me. Where does this stop? How do we really stop this type of behavior? There are guys in this club, and we know exactly who they are that have intimidated other members and threatened other members and I can say one thing with confidence, it has all been this group of individuals that have been after the GS guys and NEVER the other way around. We have never yelled at them about the way they fly, or what they fly, or when they fly, nor will we ever do so.

This is a one way street of intimidation the way I see it. All is targeted at GS flyers and those that support them. If any member of this club and can tell me of even one incident where a GS flyer has intimidated or threatened any member of this club, please let me know right now.

I spent 48 minutes yesterday afternoon on the phone with Mr. Morris. He seems like a very kindly older gentleman who stated that he has been a member of SSRCC for well over 30 years. I actually did enjoy the conversation and I look forward to meeting him at the flying field.

He told me that he was appalled by the actions that took place at the July 27 meeting and the failure of the club officers to control the meeting and prevent the inexcusable behavior of some of the members. He further stated that this club is very divided and has been for several years, and he felt that this division would continue well into the future regardless of the outcome of the upcoming election. He further stated that in his opinion the club has been poorly run for years.

He told me that he has no particular issues with the various types of airplanes that fly at the field although he prefers the slow flyers such as the "Butterfly" and similar airplanes. He did however feel that helicopters had no place at the field.

When I asked about the percieved exclusionary practices in the club and flying field. He told me that "they have to do something or they are going to lose the field". Unfortunately, this gentleman has been told that there has been a barrage of noise complaints and that the prision officials are right on the borderline of closing the field. I did inform him that he along with many others have received erroneous information.

In closing my conversation, I asked Mr. Morris to please seriously consider the candidates running for the two open offices. "The choices are simple. Do you want to have the same old thing again? Or is it worth taking a chance that new blood could have a positive effect on the club and bring it back to level of respect that it deserves".

I'm currently awaiting my threatening phone call!!!!!!!!

How about the old saying cover your azz....Now that he is out in the open and has intimidated members he is going to do what he can to cover it up. This is the same old BS that has been going on at this field for years. I for one think the AMA needs to address this according to the letter sent to every club member. Apparently they feel that the Toilet Paper Printing doesn't affect them!

Carl can you please ask him, next time he calls to call me, I would like to hear this change of heart, because he was dead wrong on all accounts when he spoke to me and DON. I had told him never to call me but if he has had a change of heart and can hold a friendly conversation he is welcome to talk to me about his change of views, which can only benefit the club and the members. We do not take things personally, but will stand firm if we see that the actions of the few inflict undue disturbance or pain on fellow members. All members of the SSRCC deserve a leadership that protects their right to enjoy this fantastic sport, free from, the intimidation of “ban them all” “kick them out” “they are not welcome” . Not going to happen I am going to make certain that these people do not under any circumstance ruin the enjoyment of fellow members. I don’t have to be a President to do that. I know there are outstanding gentlemen in this club who will rise in due time, and that time is coming near.

Most respectfuly,
Zahoor E Bajwa

Mr Morris in my opiion sounds just like one of the guys at my field. They want to have slow lfying ,no kids no noise so they can set around and pretend that they have had a good life. Any one or any thing that is new and they don't understand is a treat. They are not tolerant of new people unless they come kissing ass.
I have witnessed Mr. Morris fly over the pits several times and he needs to be expelled. I was watching from google Earth.
See how stupid this statement sounds. His remarks as stated by others is just as stupid.
In My opion Mr. Morris needs to resign! Because people like him are the problem, and they can not be reasoned with. They are just to immature.
You guys have a lot of work ahead of you with the guys that are in your club. Life is to short to have to deal with this kind of ignorance.
good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

I talked to Don earlier today. The conversation I had was nothing like he and Baj described to me.

I think Catman is right. I was played like the proverbial fiddle.
