I am extremely pleased to report to all our fellow modelers, the SSRCC meeting concluded with a respectable turn out. I was proud of our wonderful SSRCC membership who attended this meeting with smiles and welcoming demeanor with no nonsense understanding and fair approach to discussions. They truly are a great bunch of guys, next time anyone runs into a SSRCC member please do welcome them. The new team showed themselves as avid speakers and far out ran me in that. It’s all good news here. Thank you all.

I'm here......just trying to get up to speed with all the SSRCC posts. As a new member of the club, I can honestly say that I have really enjoyed my recent visits to the club flying field and the hospitality that I have received from Baj (Kuz) and other SSRCC members. It is a great facility and I really enjoyed meeting and flying with fellow SSRCC club members.

I'm very new to this 3D and IMAC stuff...............I am having a hard time adjusting to strafing the field with my Yak instead of my GS Mustang.........but I'll eventually get there.

Great flying weekend Friday (hope my boss doesn't subscribe to this thread) at SSRCC and Sunday at OMAC!!!! Tomorrow looks very promising for flying........I think I feel a cough coming on.

Just got back from the November SSRCC meeting. What a meeting!! I mean it was a real R/C Club meeting. We all discussed (yes, discussed) real club stuff.

I'm kind of an outsider there even though I'm the new Treasurer, as I don't know the members very well, but after the meeting 4 members came up to me on 4 seperate occasions (they knew my name) and shook my hand and said "Thank You for stepping up for our club". WOW

It was clearly obvious that everyone there was dedicated to bringing this club back from the dark side and making it the best club in the Northeast. With committed members like that it is well on its way.

I'm proud to be part of it. Thanks Baj for asking me.

Whoa dude, you are supposed to be in the basement building, not messing around with the wild thing. Perhaps you brought back some entertainment to help you with the builds. Man, why didn't I think of that. Chane, I changed my mind, I'm taking my new plane to Elie's place to finish it

Indeed Carl, we are proud to have you as part of the team as well. You are a great addition to this club and they should be proud to have you as their Treasurer. Plus, you can fly that mean 45 with a snap right at the ground!! And you fly the real big birds with a steering wheel; ya da man brother.

Baj,

You're killing me! If I didn't have to work to fund my next GS project I would be there. Enjoy the day!

Wow, the pic of the cockpit looks much better than the avitar allows!! That's awesome Carl. I fly the MS Simulator and have tried to learn about all the gadgets. I like to take off out of Login and fly over Fenway Park and then come back and land. Good stuff. I also like to fly the float plane in Alaska; I’ve been looking for Sarah Palin’s house. I have a very close friend that is an instrument rated pilot. He had a Piper Archer and he used to live on the Vineyard. He would pick me up at Norwood and we would fly back to the Vineyard to play a round of golf at Farmneck, have a nice civilized dinner, and then he would drop me back off. It’s amazing how a three hour trip, including the ferry ride, becomes a 25 minute flight!

Now the important question, does that plane hover while doing slow torgue roles six inches from the ground with smoke?

Now that the new board has been seated at SSRCC, I’d like to give my warmest thank you to our membership for electing us.” We had a very good productive first meeting last night and we look forward to a healthy, thriving and growing club for many, many years to come.

Special thanks to all of the many people that helped to make this possible through their tireless efforts and valuable time dedicated to this cause; Chane, Elie, Mark, Carl, Ken, and of course Andy and the AMA advisory board. Also a very special thank you to all of the other members at SSRCC that have worked with us during this club’s rebirth; offering their support and help at the field. This board is more interested in using our wonderful facility as members, flying our planes there and visiting with our friends, then we are “running” the club. The club will run itself with us as stewards to the membership. We will also make sure that our SSRCC is a good and excellent neighbor and we will reach out into the community to give back whenever and however we can. A healthy club that gives back to the community from which it depends, is one that will thrive and be appreciated rather than tolerated!!

We have much more work to do making our club as good as it can be, but that’s where the fun begins!!

Zahoor E Bajwa & Don Brown
