Because this investment is for exciting new modelers, TT looks a real good comany to deal with, going 37% or above. DA 170 for engine and JR 12 2.4 for radio.

After seeing how well Father Don's Composit ARF Extra performed with a DA85 I think that would definitely be worth considering.

Hi, wayne I have gone to 37% and above I agree the EF is a great plane in the 100cc class. So grateful for your input thank you sir.

Baj, Elie is building one of the TT Yak 54 37.5% Yaks with DA-170 right now. Go with cans and 14" header pipes. It will be just like mine. I believe the Pilot and TOC models were a result of a business partnership breakup, so I guess they are both real and I’m not sure who the bad guy is; the Pilot seems to be better made than the TOC and comes 90% pre-built with all surfaces hinged and the canopy is done and has pilot mounts if you want to add a pilot. The Pilot also comes with all carbon fiber for landing gear, wing and stab tubes. So, that’s also for your consideration. The place to get a Pilot would be Chief Aircraft: http://www.chiefaircraft.com/rcmsec/Models/PowerAirplanes/PilotRC/YAK375.html

Chief also carries the TT models and TOC as well so you can compare. BTW, the Pilot I got came with a carbon fiber spinner and wheels as well as heavy duty hardware.

Good luck with your shopping.

This is not true. Chris Hinson who owns Extreme Flight RC has gone out of his way to make sure he puts an excellent product on the market. For a top of the line 100cc bird, you can't go wrong with this one.

On another note Baj, if you're going bigger, go with the new super light 55% Extra, with a DA 170 for power, that the new Aerotech is putting out this winter. Click on the Sensei link below.

I stand corrected, in regards to the Extreme Flight Planes. The Pilot planes have better support than the Thunder Tiger TOC as far as parts available. I flew the 37.5% TT TOC yak for 15 months with over 300 flights , before batt connections bite me. Very good first GS plane. Will fly so slow you cannot comprehend how it does so. Landings are so simple it will spoil you. But then again TONY TAN from Pilot can do custom covering schemes, and is very quick to respond to E-Mails and such.. The pilot would also be an excellent choice as well. I'd like to add that a 150 engine will be more than enough for the 37.5% yak, the 170 will be totally insane and unnecessary. Some people like it like that. A DA 150 on cans will be ballistic.
