Thanks for changing this post. That is not an area I will or can debate. I have a tainted opinion being a 2 tour Viet Nam vet. I just don't feel wasting more lives and billions of more dollars in an unwinnable ground war is the way to go.

IMPORTANT NOTICE (please pass this information to any members you know that do not have email):

I want to let you all know that the current board is in direct contact with authorities within the Prison and we began that process immediately after taking our seats. We felt that this was one of our first priorities due to deep concerns all members have about our ongoing relationship with the prison. In doing so, it has allowed us to have a unique understanding of a very serious recent issue that has arisen.

We have worked with the prison to determine that a call that came directly into them last Tuesday appears to be a false/fictitious complaint and we can only assume that this was done by a member or ex-member of our club that is unhappy about the club’s new direction and or leadership, or feels a need to retaliate, even though they are putting the entire club at jeopardy to do so. The way we know this is by the particular information that was provided to the prison by the caller; information that would ONLY be known by a member or recent ex-member. I am working directly with a Sergeant within the prison on this matter. I have provided pertinent information, as requested, about what is going on in the club, including the disciplinary actions that we have had to take and why. The person that called was given my contact information and as of today, has not contacted me.

Let me make it clear right now, the contacts that I have made within the prison have assured me that they have no problems whatsoever with the flying club, nor have they received ANY complaints over the years from anyone. They even told me that the prisoners like to sit on top of the hill and watch the planes fly when they can.

So, here is the deal, it appears that someone from our club, either a disgruntled current member or ex-member, is putting our club at risk so they can further their agenda of hate and or malcontent, in order to continue pushing an agenda of misinformation, and all in an attempt to cause us problems. This is the very behavior that has caused this club so many problems for so many years and finally came to a head only recently; as we all know too well.

It needs to be perfectly clear to all of you, we the board are not just representing ourselves any longer, we are now in a position to represent all of you as our club members, and we take that responsibility very seriously.

We have assurances from the prison that they will follow up on any calls they receive to determine who is making the call, now that they know this information. They are now aware of the possibility of retaliation being at the root of any calls that they receive. They have also assured us that a false report to the prison is a crime and will be treated as such.

From our side, we have informed Andy Argenio, the AMA District I Vice President, that this has occurred and he has promised to take immediate action against any AMA member that perpetrates, or is in any way involved, in such a horrific act.

In closing, I personally find this to be one of the most disgraceful things I have ever witnessed as a member of any respectable organization that is supposed to stand for honesty, goodwill to our fellow man, friendship, and harmony. The person that did this should truly be ashamed.

I'm not saying I'm a better judge. Believe me far more knowledgeable people have got us into this. But these same knowledgeable people don't seem to have any viable solutions to get us out of it.

"nor have they received ANY complaints over the years from anyone" Clarification needed, that the only complaint and agreement with one neighbor had nothing to do with sound. we have found our neighbors are extremely open minded and understanding and have enjoyed a wonderful relationship with the club. our admin will cultivate this even further.

The above notice was sent out to all members on 11-23-09. On 11-17-09 a call came in to "Complain" about noise from the previous day; which was when Elie flew. And the day after pictures of Elie, John and Peter Glezellis were seen flying at the field on this forum. We will find out who made that call and have a really good idea anyway. The person actually gave their name as the "neighbor that was in the meeting with the prison years ago" and they left his telephone number.

There are only a few people in the club that have that information; very few. I spoke with that neighbor and he assured me that he did not call the prison, nor has he since that meeting over fours years ago. He also let me know that he has had no complaints about the flying at all since then and invited us over for a beer! BTW, his house is over one half mile from our field.

Can you believe this! Wow.

I'm on it Mr. President; we work as a team and all have done much. The most important thing to do now is to have fun with our friends playing with our toy airplanes!!
