Great point. We plan to keep this an open dialog for a variety of reasons. The benefits of these forums are to learn from one another; reach out for advice; vent some frustration when being treated unjustly, and find common ground with others in our hobby. Believe me, if this thing goes astray and starts spiraling back down to where members are being harassed at the field, or rumors and unfounded insinuations are being reported to the board about how members are flying, you will know about it. We only expect the same respect that we will give to our fellow members and based on last night’s meeting, it appears that we are heading in the right direction.

Hey, I’d like to give a shout out to Who Knows (Paul G.). I forgot to mention that he stood up in front of the entire attending membership and said that we need to accept everyone and get rid of the 65cc engine limit because, “It just isn’t right.” He also stated that he had come to realize that we all need to be able to equally access our flying field and that he has made amends with those he opposed; those apologies went both ways. He has been at the field every time we have gone and made a point of it; he also brought coffee again. He was passionate in his delivery and there was no doubt about his position and where he stood for all to see.

It was a very positive first step in getting the SSRCC back on track. Civility prevailed and all sides agreed to work togerther going forward. New friends were made and the future looks bright.

The SSRCC is a fantastic facility with the potential to be a leading example of what this hobby is all about.

To everyone that had a hand in bringing about a reasoned and civil resolution - THANK YOU!

I have been watching the threads as an outside observer. I didn't comment because I was not directly involved in the club, and I know that in any situation there are things (good and bad) going on that I don't know about.

I am glad to see the healing start at this club. I know some of the individual members of the club and they are great people. I hope that the club continues to mend fences and smooth the ruffled feathers. It sounds like they (the club) is on the right track and working to make it a fun place to fly and BS with friends. Good luck, and may the healing continue.

I can only say what he said. He had a cane and when asked what happened, he said that he was attacked by someone that took the FG forum too seriously. Or he may have said that it was a FG member that attacked him, one or the other. He said that this person came to his house, broke his door down, and attacked him. A fight pursued and he kicked the guy down thirteen stairs. Then the guy was arrested by the police. He also said that he now needs a knee replacement and that he is in his early thirties; too young to need a knee replacement. That’s all we know so far. He appeared to be in great pain while he hobbled around the front table to address the members.

What's the President's name and what's the name of the alleged assailant?

You can't clap with one hand the credit goes in a circle, this was the easy part. It was nice to see so many well wishes I could not resist.
When you are opposed in an election you can be sure of a few things,

1. One that the opposition does not buy your line. True or False
2. That the opposition feels confident they have enough support to defeat you. True or False
3. Pump/ candidate/ election/ goal. Using the 4 words please complete the sentence.
4. When the opposition tells you Oh we gona have a contested election this is gooooood very ggggggggoood what should you think?

One who answers today’s questions best Is A FG Bad Ass intellectual.

The above are hints for current affairs you all seem to want to hear.

All I can say is WOW!

I am not going to go into detail here as I will leave that up to Don, Mark, and Baj.

I was so blown away by what took place and in how the majority of the individuals there were able to openly discuss the issues at hand. I never expected the limitation of 65cc engine size limit to even come up for discussion last night, let alone be voted out by overwhelming majority.

Spoke with several of the members of the "morning flyer retired group" not under the definition of the "O.F. Group" (sorry guys but O.F. is how everyone knows bad individuals). These are some of the greatest supporting individuals of this club.

One person I have not seen addressed is Dr. Williams. Dr. Williams is one of the Great Silent Members of this club. Until the July meeting there weren’t many individuals even knew he was a member. His address to the membership was done with great enthusiasm and honesty. Here is a man, who no one really knew at the July meeting, but yet was treated with such disrespect. Came back and addressed the membership and indicated he had no hard feelings. Here is a great man of Honor!

I am looking forward to getting back to flying and leaving this bad memory behind us.

I have been watching this thread for what seems like months now, I know it hasn't been that long, and I am glad to see things have finally headed in the right direction. The best of luck to everyone involved even though I don't think you will need it.
