Has anybody replaced the 5 year lithium battery in there 10x? If so how? Or does everyone just send it in to Horizon?
Thanks, Matt |

I've not replaced mine yet. But if I couldn't do it myself, I would not send it to Horizon, but to Tony Stillman or Ben Pham at radiosouth - http://www.radiosouthrc.com/

my 10X hasd been in service for ten years with no battery replacement. One day it will fail and I'll have to do something. I'm not all that worried about losing the programming because I can redo it pretty easily.

Had mine recently replaced at Horizon. Cost about 20 bucks plus the shipping there. They replaced the throttle gimbal free of charge.

I called horizon and asked how much to change out the battery and was told $30. Wow, the battery at radio shack is only $4.99 or two for $3.29 at Walmart. I picked up a battery holder and the battery for less than $10 soldered the battery holder to the original battery then placed the replacement battery in the holder, used my drimal with a small cut off wheel and removed the battery bars just below the spot welds on the original battery. Turned on power and verified that there was NO memory loss. I then used double side foam tape and mounted the new battery holder to inside of the transmitter. Easy, cost less than $10 and took about 20 minutes. Now to take care of the 2.4 module wire any ideas would be helpfull.
Thanks, Matt |
