Default Spektrum VR6010 Voltage Regulator

Does anyone have this Regulator? I just purchased 2 for my extra and i need some inspiration on how/where to mount them. Also, any issue with them at all? I heard of the fan blades popping off on hard landings but thats about it. Thanks in advance!

Default Re: Spektrum VR6010 Voltage Regulator

I bought two of them, just started up my DLE 55cc airplane and one fan blew apart and the other one stopped working all in about 15 seconds. The fans are not powerful or strong enough to deal with a gas engine.

I mounted mine up near the back of the firewall, I needed all the nose weight I could get, the vibration killed them in seconds.

Does anyone know if they will still be okay without the fans running?

I have 6 HS 7950's and one 7955 and two other smaller servos for throttle and choke, plus running the ignition through them.
