Hi
I recently bought a few of these new servos for testing. Specs look good and price is good. Any of the giants tried them before? Hi Wilga
Thanks for the input From what I was told is that they are basically identical to the Futaba servos? They seem strong and slop free. I recently bought a lot of Hitec 7955 servos and I must admit the gear train on Savox feels smoother. Most of the Hitec 7955 servos make quite a lot of noice when you turn them and the gear have some rough spots every 20 degrees. I really like JR servos and untill now have used them on most of my giants, I just got tired of the slop and want try something else. Funny that you say they are cheap as they are stronger than the 7955 and about 15 us per servo cheaper. I also got told that they produce all the small trex heli servos Regards Alex |

I don't want to start a brand war, but I would like to make sure no misinformation goes unchecked, the HS-7955 is rated at 330 in/oz of torque (and indiependent testing on FG website shows this as accurate). The Savox is rated at 277. I have no idea what the Savox costs, but you state it is $15 cheaper than the 7955. In the US, we can buy 7955 for $88 any day of the week, what do the Savox cost and who in the US sells them?

Hi rcairflr
I am also not starting a product war only interested to get other inputs on these servos. The torque was taken from the boxes and my mistake as servox is at 6 volt and hitec is listing only the 4.8 volt number on the box Servox 6 Volt 20 kg Hitec 4.8 Volt 18 kg I Have no idea who stocks them in the us I am comparing the prices I paid at the local dealer ( israel). But the servox came in at about 75 usd compared to 90 usd to the Hitec that I paid here. Regards Alex |

I know this is an old thread but I would like to bring it back up. I ran into some Savox servo's yesterday at the LHS and was interested. They have several Titanium geared models that have some impressive spechs. They can be run on 7.4v and the one I was looking at had similar ratings as a 8711 at over 400in/oz and .11 speed. The cost was around $110. The guy at the shop said they were made by the same folks as Align servos but I dont know how accurate that was.
Just courious if anybody has had some recent experience. CB

These are great servo's don't be miss lead by the price... We have been running mostly JR but have started running savox and currently have two planes running on them a 33% extra and 42% eg Raven. they are fast strong and accuate. The sv 1270 is a cool servo

The Savox 1258TG is the same servo as the Align DS610
Specs: - Stall torque: 133.6 oz.in | 9.6kg.cm (4.8V) -- 167 oz.in | 12.0kg.cm(6.0V) - Motion speed: 0.10sec/60°(4.8V) -- 0.08sec/60°(6.0V) - Rating voltage: DC 4.8-6V - Temperature range: -20°C ~ +60°C - Dimension: 40.3 x 20.1 x 36mm - Weight: 52.2g - 1520μs standard band The align DS610's are very good servos. They are very fast, strong and very smoothe. |

I have flown giant scale planes for several years, but the last year has been mostly helis. Savox servos are the same as align servos. The majority of the bigger helis you see at the field or at funflys will have align seros in them. They are extremely reliable and inexpensive. Flying giant scale planes I have seen several times where a pilot was able to get a plane down in one piece with a stuck or malfunctioning servo. With helis if you loose a swashplate servo or rudder servo you crash, no cool saves or anything, it just hits the ground hard. The default or servo of choice for most heli pilots are the align/(savox) servos. You also see some jr and futaba(more expensive though). I have yet to see a heli with hitec servos??

I am running align 610's and align 650's (made by savox, rebranded and blue anodized for Align) on 3 helis (1 vibe 50, a trex 700 and a vibe 90) and am having nothing but good things to say about them. I have a set of JR 8717's on another trex 700 that are getting sloppy (again), they will be replaced by savox.
heres the specs on the 610's ●Coreless Motor Design for fast speed, high efficiency, and low power consumption. ●12 Bits signal resolution for smooth movements. ●Fast speed and high torque. High strength titanium alloy gears with high precision and durable structure characteristics. ●Aluminum alloy mid case construction for instantaneous heat dissipation, maintaining servo’s high efficiency. ●Supports digital & analog control signal. ●Powerful and precise servo, suitable for T-Rex 600/700 swashplate and rudder use. ●Stall torque:9.6kg.cm(4.8V) 12.0kg.cm(6.0V) ●Motion speed:0.10sec/60°(4.8V) 0.08sec/60°(6.0V) ●Rating voltage C 4.8-6V●Temperature range:-20°C~+60°C ●Dimension:40.3 x 20.1 x 36mm ●Weight:52.2g ●1520μs standard band Readyheli.com is a stocking first class dealer I can get the 610's for $67.99 compared to a JR 8717 for $149.99 |

Are the splines on the output shaft the same as any of the big 3? Or do we have to buy special servo arms for them?
