I will try a new 73" Extra or Yak from Pilot-RC and wonder if anyone at FG have been trying them?
Pros and cons? |

The majority of the airframe is probably an exact copy of a great flying plane from another manufacturer.... I will not be buying one, however, it probably flys well.

I've got one with a DLE30 up front, and really liking it. Right from the word go I thought it was very precise, rolls very crisp and clean, lovely slow rolls with just a touch of rudder and elevator input.
On to the wilder 3D stuff I think it'll handle pretty much anything you can throw at it. Rolling harriers are a breeze, just get the timing right and it ticks round nicely, harriers have a little wing rock at the minute,I think that's more me than the plane, I just need to work at getting the nose slightly higher every time.Knife edge at speed or slow HighAlpha is a piece of cake. Just need some calmer days to get a bit more practice with it. Flies very much like a good 50cc'er but in a smaller package.... Perfect for a day to day, no hassle playabout. 5mins/4bolts and you're ready to rock

Great planes, reasonable price, good overall quality and great flying models. I hope I am able to modify the 73" Yak for small cannister. this will be my winterplane in Norway and skiies are on the way..... Still waiting for the model so will post some pictures of the modification when it is in progress. |

Have been flying my 73” yak some time now and have really been struggling with the DLE30. It is my 6.th DL and they have all been great except this one. Very difficult to start and the first hour I did not take it in to the air because it was running rough and quitting. But I have been flying the model some trips now and it really flies well. This has ended up in 4 successful deadsticks but today the plane stopped again on low/middle range and I was not able to reach the field. The landing was completed in a bit rough grass but it was even a nice landing, but the undercarriage was ripped up, tumbled round and did 2 holes in the wing before it ripped of one of the elevators. The propeller and rest of the plane is good. But when I went to get the plane I was a bit angry and disappointed when I saw the weak maingear construction. Almost no wood at all holding the landing gear plate and not even one triangle list supplying and strengthening the landing gear. I think this is all to weak and wonder what are other thinking about this?
I know the plane is not supposed to land in rough grass but this would happend in a normal rough landing on a nice grassfield! ![]()
