I took a 3.5 year break from the hobby after the birth of my son, during that time I got rid of 40%er and started messing around with a 55 Chevy belair. Needless to say with the economy and my wife being a teacher who was unable to go back to work this year i have shevled the project and needing an escape from work and life in general I decided that I had some unfinished planes laying around (38% Columbo Anderson in the bones,37% areotech edge still in stick form, and a 35% 1st gen wildhare) that i needed to get back at it.
Since my WH owes me nothing after 5 years I figured I would start with that. It has been in the bones since the end of 2005 and I had a MVVS 116 laying around I figured I would see if I could get this hare to weigh what it did when I use to fly it with a DA100 as I really am not looking to spend much money right now so I'll fly it with an engine that I was saving for the edge. After looking at some other mods (Sensi and the gang) I went to town and so far have the air frame down to 4.5lbs, the hatch was glassed back in 05 so that is 1.6lbs so no weight will come out of that, wings 1.9lbs each and the stabs 1lb each. After adding the 9-10lbs for the 116 with cans and mains it is 23.5lbs then add covering and electronics. All in all it feels good to just be messing around with the toys after the break and coming back here to see the gang is still going strong. |

Welcome back Hoss. Hope you find the enjoyment of the sport again. It's really my outlet that I've used for about 4 years and it's great to have something other than work and "issues" to deal with LOL.....
Good luck MC |
