Hobby King, pretty much where all the hardware came from. Dont think they are true Carbon fibre, think they are just glass with a carbon pattern stuck on lol but they are strong and light, $5 a pop!

Charger,
What are you're thoughts on the bluebird servos? I'm thinking of trying some out in a project.

I havent flown with these yet but the small ones seem really good that I fly with in other planes. On first inspections these seem really nice, perfect centering, fast, and just seem precise, got two on the tail of this bird and they are dead accurate when I look at them and compare.
Made in Taiwan too which too me is a good thing Last edited by CHARGER; 11-06-2009 at 05:21 AM. |

Ok im not so sure on these Bluebird Servos anymore, had the Maiden on Sunday all went relatively well, very easy flight for its first, didnt push it then played around today on the ground with some mixing and swapping channels for my dual elevator and aileron setups and the right aileron started slowly creeping down then the servo just stopped working, didnt lock up just dead and motor could move freely. Tried connections and everything then decided to inspect inside the servo, found two little mosfets on the circuit board completely burnt out! Still not really sure if somehow it was my fault and I extended the servo past its maximum travel somehow or what, I dont think so but either way thats enough for me to pull them all out and replace with something name brand.
They look to be built really well, all inside looks quality, weather sealed, nice wiring and solder but something must be seriously wrong for the circuit to burn up like that. |

Charger, I bought some of these a while back and had the same prob. They had a few flights on them and every thing seemed OK. Got out to the field one day and one of my elevator servos would not work. thought it was in the extension. Got home took the servo and the extension out and there was nothing wrong with the extension. took the servo apart and guess what I found. The board was burnt. Took all of them out and replaced. There still here in a box somewhere.

Really!
Funny you mention elevator aswell because it started doing the same thing while I was playing, it crept downward then sort of locked hard at the end of its travel and I had not touched the controls but upon testing that servo its still OK along with the other 4, kept suspecting extensions but must be the servos.Just ordered 4x Hitec HS-625MGs and a HS5645MG for Rudder, still pretty budget compared to some I guess but they should do the job Here is a pic of the inside of mine Last edited by CHARGER; 11-10-2009 at 06:25 AM. |

I'm using HS645MGs all the way around on my 70" Yak 54 (I think I got 4 for $100 from HobbyHorse.com).... I got my kit from Cermark back in Jan when they came out for the Arizona E-Fest. Looks like the Cermark kits are the same kits offered at Peakmodel.com. I've got about 2 dozen flights on the Yak with mild 3D and aggressive pattern mixed in. I'm running a power 110 with a 3700mah 8s pack and HV85AMP ESC. She unlimited on the vertical.
Been lusting after the Su though. Something about the big cowling aerobatic planes! I hope Cermark brings out their kits to the 2010 E-Fest... I've been saving my pennies! -Flyracer |

Hi.
I just received my Peakmodel SU29 25% with DLE30 combo and this is my first gas plane after many years of modell flying. So, I start from zero here. I plan to use Blubird BMS-616DMG+HS (10Kg) servos (2 for elevators, 2 for Ailerons, 1 for rudder pull-pull). I would liek your help: Is this servo enough for rudder? I prefer to use LiPos (2S) for Rx and servos as well as for ignition. 3A regulator is OK for the ignition? Do I have to use kill switch and what to buy? What to buy for power box? Is it safe to use 10A regulator withought power box? Tooo many questions and thanks for helping Takis Katsoris |

Myself I prefer to use A123 2300 2s because you don't have to deal with regulator and all that. They only regulator I use is for the ignition http://www.troybuiltmodels.com/items/42IGNREG.html I would not use power box for this size plane, only on bigger stuff 40%, 35% some people don't even use power on 35% with success. With gas engine I always recommend to use a way to kill the engine for safety http://www.troybuiltmodels.com/items...NGINEKILL.html this is a good one or the smartfly is good to but cost more money. 10KG is enough power on the rudder. Good luck and post some pics.

I got the Yak 55 last week, as usual the shipping was fast and no damage. They always do a good job on the box double box. Very nice plane for the dle30. Carbon fiber gear... That plane will around 9.5-10lbs easy, I will weight when done. I'm waiting for a fuel tank, Sulivan tail gear and bigger wheel. As for the rest I used all the hardware except the previously mentioned parts. Should be flying this weekend.
