I recently finished a CompARF MX2. Like most people, I originally thouht I'd just use the silver padded bags that CompARF supplies. Well, every time I got ready to put the wings back in the bags at the end of the day.... I put them in upside down! The leading and trailing edges of these bags looked so similar that there was no way (short of making a simple mark on the bag) to tell the leading edge from the trailing edge. Never being one to consider the simple solution, I decided to start looking for some nice protective bags.
There are a couple of known companies selling generic bags, but this plane has a unique scheme, so I thought that if it didn't cost a fortune for custom bags, I'd like to look into a set. There is (especially for me, lately) an assumed risk in ordering custom bags... the risk that you will destroy the plane before the wingbags show up! Fortunately, that didn't happen, but I thought while I had both a perfectly good plane and matching bags... I better get this thread started! So, here we go.... I looked at most of the other wingbag companies. Some have gone out of business, others only want to sell their standard colors and schemes. I found another post here on FG that mentioned Revoc. I'd never heard of them, so I went to their website. http://www.revoc.eu They have a US representative right here in the Atlanta area (Mokken here on FG), so I contacted him via email with a picture of my plane. Paul responded quickly with info about Revoc, and said that they could match my Gary Ward scheme exactly. He sent over a measurement form, and I sent some more detailed photos of the wings, stabs and rudder. They quickly made photo proofs from that, sent them back to me for approval, and 3 weeks later.... WINGBAGS! I'll post some pictures with a little more info on the bags. This will be a short thread, but I wanted to share it with anyone who is considering custom bags. The pricing wasn't bad... considering it was a one-of production run, and the quality is great! Take a look at Revoc, you won't be dissapointed. Last edited by reyn3545; 09-20-2009 at 12:01 PM. |

It's raining (still) in Atlanta today, so I either had to do this thread or start building an arc. The photos are all indoors, so just overlook the mess in the basement!
Here's a quick look at the bags.... The bags are made of a very heavy fabric, with a heavy velour lining on the inside. I don't know anything about fabric density and I know that "heavy" isn't very descriptive.... but for reference, one wingbag weighs just short of 4 pounds! that's good quality stuff. The blue, yellow and orange colors are separate pieces of fabric, sewn together. Seams are very nice, with absolutely no strings or rough edges. The white and silver stars are silkscreened over the fabric.... not just ironed on, so they should last a good long time. |

The bags have a flap at the root end which folds over the wing and into the bag after the wing is inserted, then 3 velcro big flaps that hold the bag shut. The rudder bag has velcro along the bottom edge, so it slips over and closes nicely. The stab bags have velcro flaps as well. I plan to leave my stabs on the plane, but if you remove yours for travel, you might be sure to note the location of your stab tubes just to make sure you don't wind up with a velcro flap right over the location of the stab tube that stays in the stab.
They even put invasion stripes on the bottom of the bags! And there's a wingtube bag sewn to the back of one of the bags. You can choose between handles or shoulder straps also. That's about all I can say about wingbags. As I said earlier, a brief thread, but I wanted to share this info about Revoc with everyone... give them a try, you won't be dissapointed! They offered 3 different levels, each custom fit and priced according to the level of complexity.. here's the link to the options for my plane.....
The pictures at the bottom of the page are of my actual bags... much better colors than the poor lighting in my basement! http://www.revoc.eu/mx2-composite-arf-p-153.html |

This is where REVOC comes in. The company is based in Poland and they produce the highest quality wingbag available. Not only will we match any custom scheme, but we can also make them as generic as you want. This is truly a product that you can make to your liking. Attached are photos of some other bags we have made for our U.S. customers, there are also a lot of photos on our site at http://www.revoc.eu Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions. Any thanks to Mike for taking the time to write up a good article and share his experience.

Mike,
You should copy this over and do a product perspectives on it. They are on the top right of the front page, and will probably get a little more notice. It is good to support quality products. |

conversion put the price from 193.00 euro to $287.00 not including shipping. That was for the custom scheme that reyn wanted.
Basic set of 2 wings and 2 stabs 82.95 euro = $122.05 still doesn't include shipping.
