Default BBW build thread Canvass????

A year or so ago a very good friend of mine Steve Miller asked me if I was to build an airframe for myself, no holes barred what would I build. I told him it would be a 40% Carden 330 with a mid wing design, I called it a 330 Hybrid thinking it sounded kinda cool. This I mention is just my personal choice for appearance purposes and the added plus of the mid wing look and possibly a better flight performance. There's slight differences in the Carden Extra's and I have always thought the 330 to be the prettiest Carden Extra of the bunch. I like the bowed landing gear, the cowl blister to blend the spinner, the 1-1/2 place cockpit and the extended rudder on the bottom trailing edge. The 300 mid wing is close but I prefer the longer look of the front hatch to the cowl from the shorter 330 canopy, just my preference. After explaining this Steve asked me if I'd build one of these as I would for myself, turn key. My plane, my scheme, done however I wish, just build him one. Starting in a week I am going to do 2 of these. One Steve's, set up for sport flying and the other for another club member Big Mike set up for precision IMAC flying. Both planes will be the same airframes, but the geometry for control set up will be different as will be the gear used in these 2 planes. The build of Carden Extra's has been covered very well by numerous excellent builders here on Flying Giants. If there is some interest in this project I'll do a pictorial build thread of what this is going to be. Let me know if this is worth the effort of a build thread on a BBW Carden 330 Hybrid. The kit is here, I'm stoked to the max and so is Boomer...Walt

It is always more than a pleasure to come home in the evenings look over one of your build threads. I, like you think the 330 is the best looking airframe, especially a mid wing. Besides I am going to be starting 43% pretty soon and would be nice to follow with you on things.

Walt, I personally would like to see it, whether its a Carden, Dalton or a Godfrey that you build, there is always ideas and things you share that you may change that might be an idea for someone to use in a different airframe and, I have always enjoyed seeing your work !

Walt, I haven't flown for about 3 years now, but I'm always on here looking for your next project to follow, hoping to learn a few more skills from you for when I am able to build again.
