Talcum powder adds bulk to a tube and inside a socket. Better to use a good automotive wax on the tube to slick it up. Definately order up a new set of wing tubes from the manufacturer. Mine are anodized black as well. You could have bought a plane where the tubes had been bent and replaced with aftermarket.

I just called up Horizon and ordered up a set of new tubes. For 40 bucks for two tubes it was good piece of mind, especially considering how expensive this plane is put together. Should have them by the weekend and can hopefully go flying it for the first time

Thanks again for all of your help, you guys are the best!

This is a good thing since you said the previuos owner scratched a mark for the depth of the tube. That is a crack and inflite failure waiting to happen. Tom

Are those pipes really that fragile??

ALso I heard that there are aftermarket carbon fiber tubes that I could get instead. Does anyone know where I could get a set of those?

Thanks

Nah a scratch wont hurt it ....If it was CF then yes but aluminum ......nope..so long as the wall has not been breached ( drill hole)
TNT have many CF and aluminum tubes for many pop makes
