if i had the cash i would love to use the new futaba BL super torque servos, just too pricey at the moment.

I prefer 8711s, but i now run 7955 from a cost basis. they are nice, but not as precise

oh man, did you just open a can of worms. I can see it now, it will become a huge servo war. The best choice is the one that provides enough torgue and will do the job based on what you can afford. That being said...DO NOT use servos that do not have enough power for a 40% plane.

Many guys will say JR 8711's, many will say Hitec and many will swear by Futaba....it is really up to you. Best to ask what guys have in their 40% planes, or attend a large scale event and ask the pilots!.

I am in the process of completeing a 40% Yak 54 and I plan to use 8711HV's all around, overkill on some parts of the plane, perhaps, however I have a good friend of mine that has been using them for a while now and has had no issues and I trust his judgement moreso than anybody elses. I have used 8711's in the past and have never had an issue.

So the choice is yours!

I've got you point, but I don't have any wish of making a fight here, most because I'm not asking for the better, but just which one would be exaclty the members' personal choice.

My current favorites are the Futaba 9156 and 9157. Using both on my 43% Edge and they are working very well.

The choice is up to you, I choose to use Hitec 7950's in my 42% Dalton because they can be used unregulated and are programmable.

Shouldn't be a war at all. Futaba 9156's or 9157's. JR 8711's or 8711HV's. Hitech 7950TH's or 7955TG's. Depending on your battery type and distribution system, any of these will work great in a 40% airplane. If you're using a type of radio system you like, you may want to stay with the same manufacturer. Other than that, pick one. They'll all do the job.

My servo is better than your servo.

Just kidding. I like Hitec, but all three brands have great servos. Pick what you want and love it!

I agree with Style. I'm a JR guy but on my last plane, I used 8711's except I put some 9157's on the rudder of my 40%er, just to try them out. I love how smooth they operate. Even mixed and matched, they all work.

I like Hitecs and JR's. Then again whoever made the servo so long as they work well I could really careless. The Seiko servo is still a hoss of a servo on the rudder.

though the FUTABA 9152 is lower torque then some of the others... it comes with long arms that work great, it has a robust geartrain.... some of mine have 3 to 4 hundred flights and are still tight.....

the 9156 has been good to me too......

I 'xpect the 9157 are really good too

I guess I'm going for the Hitec 7950TG, only because it is the last released one and so I will keep me updated for while.
